Anyone else have great success (like me) with using an old school multi-band graphic equalizer to enhance RS live bootleg sound quality? I have a 10 band per L&R channel equalizer and it works really well when playing lps and cds, etc. My equipment has a level meter for each band and it makes fine tuning of each frequency visually easy. With a little practice over the years I've learn

QuoteStoneage I don't know about that. His drug abuse for a big part of the 60s and 70s sets him apart. I do agree though that he the older he grew the more "common" he has become. He survived the drugs. Not everyone does. Good for him. Probably most of us have had alcohol and drug problems over the years. Myself for sure. We are no different than Keith. Simply human. Not se

I've read tons about Keith for 40+ years now. And seen many interviews. My opinion - he's a regular person just like the rest of us. He just happens to be in a little band called The Rolling Stones. I honestly believe that 90% of the debauchery is "normal" rock n roll hype. When I read between all the rock n roll bullshit he seems perfectly normal. Love of family. Devot

Question: How do you file/organize your physical vinyl/cd/video/other music collection? I file all my music alphabetically by artist/band A-Z regardless of genre, etc. And then file each artist/band chronologically by release date. Except for live concerts which are then filed by actual show date. How do you file?

I was fortunate enough to see these 3 artists in 2024. Ally Venable Sue Foley Ana Popovic I cannot understand how they are making any money touring. I saw them all at very small venues. A quick estimate of ticket prices x number of seats yielded a very small $$$ total. After payroll, travel costs, venue fees, etc, it doesn't seem possible that they are actually making a profit. Any

Thanks, Ironbelly. Great info. I would agree with your qty estimates. Even at 5-10k copies (I think lower on some) that's still pretty limited. And I would guess their survival rate to be much less than stock releases. Especially promo 45's which are not collected much now, even with the vinyl revival. I attend many record fairs and I can get 45's for very cheap. Nobody seems

Question: Do any members here have knowledge as to how limited in qty RS Promo releases are? Specifically: -promo 45's from years ago -promo 12" from 70's and beyond -promo CDs I'm curious to know as I have collected promo releases for years but really don't know how limited they are. I appreciate your educated comments. Specifics on certain promos are helpful.

So most of my Stones vinyl has been under siege for 4 years now. This thanks to a very hostile ex-wife. But today I have listened to Stones vinyl for the first time in 4 years. The warmth of the sound brought me to tears. It's real!! CDs and streaming are convenient but the the sound just doesn't compare. The warmth of a new woman to enjoy it with is pretty great too. Just sayi

Has every Stones original studio album been released in colored vinyl now? Including clear vinyl and/or pic discs too. Counting imports, box sets, etc but not counting bootlegs. Probably still a few but I'm not sure. Maybe some of the post 1980 albums? Comments?

53% is correct. But do vinyl records have the same "attrition" rate as other antiques? I think much higher. I would be interested in knowing an informed estimate.

Not the replacement rate, the "attrition" rate. That is, what is the percentage estimate of the Rolling Stones ENHM 1st issue US album still in existence after 6 decades? Using the "antique" formula for 10% lost per decade, that means 53% would still be in existence. But I think that is high. Do vinyl records have a higher "attrition" rate. I think so. It would

I once read that in the world of antiquing, 10% of things disappear every decade. That is, if 100 chairs were made in 1924, 10% of them would be lost in the first decade to natural disaster, overuse, disposal, etc. So 90 left after 10 years, then 81 left after 20 years, then 73 left after 30 years, and so on until after 100 years here in 2024 there are very few left. And therefore, if deemed c
