Christmas album release and spring tour? Maybe late fall tour. Looking at Vancouver I could tell September and October were already a no go given the shows and sports games already scheduled. Stage set up and take down is a minimum 2 days on either side of a show. Any stadium basically needs a week between acts.

We are so lucky that the band has, for whatever reason, allowed anyone-especially mega fans like Matt Lee-to video whole shows and post them on YouTube. It’s been great to follow the last two tours-which I haven’t managed to be able to see a show in person. The Stones don’t just play a show, their concerts are massive events. And when they’re good, they’re real good.

Edmonton Commonwealth stadium still has no events booked for the 18th according to their website but, somewhat promising, the only event before that date or after is 7 days either way so so plenty of time to set up and take down a stage

Hopefully the postponement doesn’t mean Canadian cities lose out, Vancouver is closer to me geographically but Edmonton is a better deal for accommodations by far. Two nights plus fights is $100 more than a single night in a Vancouver hotel. Sheesh. Airbnb seems an interesting, perhaps more affordable option.
