think the real problem is complex; it is a combination of the stones playing style always rough, but above all it is Keith, who, if you watch SAL can still play powerful rythm guitar, he is not consistent, and he really does not 'lead' the band anymore, I fear that he can't, so it is down to Mick and Charlie, who do a wonderful job, and Ronnie who can be, and has been sometimes fa

Have to disagree, performing is incredibly knackering, regardless of length of time you've done it. Although Mick is very fit, it is very very demanding, sure you know that, not meaning to be patronising, and I'd rather have 80 minutes of absolute dynamite, than 2 hours of less than that. Remember seeing them at the Bridges gigs at Wembly, and they were truly knackered and uninspirin

Hoping that it comes to pass, I'd like the Stones to play for 80-90 minutes, then do 10 minutes of encores. Think this length would suit them, and I think we might get a more energised band throughout the evening. Like them to play Arenas, theatres, clubs, with one(only) big Stadium Sized Gig. Would like to have an organist a la Ian Mac, pianist a la Ian Stu, and a percussionist a la O

Brilliant band, brilliant music, great soul. The night after I saw them perform at the Dominion Theatre, Tottenham Court Road, I met Keith Richards coming down the steps of a famous restaurant in Greek Street(round the corner from the Dominion), and shook his hand. Dexys were brilliant.

A big surprise recently was how much I enjoyed Emotional Rescue(Album); I remember when it came out, thinking how lousy it was. I still think it is only mediocre, but there are some lovely touches, and 1 or 2 songs I'm very fond of. My rotational play of Albums includes GHS, Black & B, SAL, ABB, 40 Licks, Sticky Fingers, then Some Girls(my first "new" album),LIB,BB, then Voo

i remember being so excited by getting a ticket to Sheperd's B, but going home I remember feeling depressed because they just weren't good; I did enjoy moon is Up however, and melody, and some girls. I also remember the stadium show, at wembley, which is when i decided that i had enough of their stadium shows, because they were so so tired, that the band sounded leaden. Am I right in th

I would not have wanted to be MJ at the O2, because it must be frightening to watch a band that sounds so totally powerful....but the Stones still rule for me, so hopefully it will encourage the Rolling ones to pull their collective fingers out and get seriously competitive!

I have been listening to the 2004 version of the 1979 Album Power in the Darkness, and it is amazing, are there any other Stones fans who go for this?

Do I have to go and see a musical(my work, theatre) on the opening night of the RS at the O2, what songs will I miss if I don't go, will they play "She Was Hot", really hope so, will they film the last O2 concert, if I was them, and knew it was the last show I would, I wonder how Keith will be, feel confident he'll be on form, I really miss my girlfriend, who has really got to

There is clearly a whole section, ie one end that the RS won't use because of the stage, so that must take it down to 20,000 max.

I met Ian Stewart in Barnes in 82?, we stood and had a pee together. Then met Keith R outside L'escargot in Soho in '86, just after a Dexy's gig, met Charlie W at Ronnie Scotts, shook his hand, very limp, not particularly friendly, but I would not expect him to be, although KR was very, very funny, and his whole family, in the back of a big black car, laughed at this young fan'
