Go for it. The Stones may not be touring much longer, and they will remember it for the rest of their lives. Even if they whine about it at the time, they will appreciate the memory of the show later. I still remember seeing a double bill of Jack Benny and Wayne Newton with my family when I was five, and putting money in Jack's tambourine and having Wayne wave to me. It will be a family memo

This is very sad. Mike had a very good solo career after the Monkees as well as writing some of their better songs. I'm glad I got to see him twice with the band, as well as a few times as a solo act.

They played in the era of package tours. They had to have played somewhere. They were often mentioned in 16 and Tiger Beat magazines, and had two singles in the Top 40. Billy was one of the few Asian performers during that era, along with Larry Ramos of the Association (both Filipino).

I've seen them five or six times. The one I enjoyed most was Nov. 12, 2002. I remember two songs in a row from "Exile" being played, looked it up on set list web site, and that seemed to be the right show. It was a good set list overall.

He was (is, in the recorded music aspect) the heart of the band. He can't be replaced and the Stones are over.

Quotejbwelda QuoteNikkei I don't want to shame them into giving away their fortunes. I want them taxed. Not sure how it could work to tax someones income retroactively, but it's got to make up for the last 40 years. Well man, I would sure put a whole heap of people before Sir Branson in that line. One particular chump comes immediately to mind. And I believe I read somewhere an

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotemarianna So, deprive Al Jardine, Brian Wilson, and the families of Carl and Dennis Wilson just because of Mike Love's participation. And it's music that's 50 years or more old. These aren't albums that all fans like or that most non-fans have heard of. It won't sell that well, anyways, especially since it can all be streamed for free. I don't

There is recent Sean interview in which he says he learned everything about studio effects and mixing from his mother. He also said she told him she produced the "Imagine" album (the original, not later remixes). She's the one that keeps issuing similar collections of the music.

The ticket prices for their next show at Chase Center in San Francisco are priced at $750 for a standard floor seat, before service charges. They were around half that price for the last tour with Glenn Frey in the line-up. The nosebleed seats were less than half the current price. I don't know why anyone would pay $750 to sit halfway back on the floor to see Vince Gill and Glenn's son

People are paying Eagles prices for a Don Henley solo show. Don has toured with the Eagles musicians for years (Steuart Smith on lead guitar included). The last time I saw Don (2016) the top ticket prices were less than $150, and the venue capacity was less than 10,000. I'm not sure it sold out. It was a very good show that was on par with Eagles show quality (the harmonies sounded just like

There isn't very much bootlegged material available from early Stones, either. It's possible that some of the tapes no longer exist in usable form. There are some interesting alternate takes, such as the alternate "Jumping Jack Flash" that was made into a video. The alternate, early version of "Loving Cup" is very different than the one on "Exile," and w

Why is John Lennon in the top 5? I don't quite get why Dylan is in the Top 10, either, when there are people who could really sing far below, but he at least has a unique style that influenced other people.

He says he wants to make the inductees and board members more diverse and reflective of popular tastes and younger people. An interview with John Sykes after his appointment:

QuoteElmo Lewis Paul's solo career gets almost no airplay other than "Band On The Run". Why? Lots of great stuff (yeah, I know, a few clunkers too). Let Me Roll It, Coming Up, Hi Hi Hi, Getting Closer, This One, etc. Your thoughts? His '70s solo career audience is aging out of the prime advertising demographic of 24-49 years old. There is very little '70s music p

QuoteIrix With declining physical media it's questionable if there's enough demand for new CD-Boxes .... There may be less demand for physical media overall, but some boxed sets sell well enough to make them very profitable. The recording costs were long paid off for the Stones and other legacy bands, and the marketing costs are low compared to selling a new CD or vinyl record f

Quotetatters QuoteMileHigh I didn't think he was that old considering that the Cars burst on the scene in 1978. RIP. I know, right? He was 34 when the Cars released their first album. Extremely unusual for an unknown rock musician to suddenly come out of nowhere and hit it big at that age. In fact, I've never even heard of such a thing. Debbie Harry is 74. She was also in her 30s
