QuoteIrix Quotecrjowls Might of converted to flac for giving it out though! But converting a lossy source (M4A) to lossless (FLAC) doesn't improve the sound quality. I'm converting a lossless file (wav) to a different lossless format (flac).

QuoteNorbert Quotecrjowls QuoteIrix Quotecrjowls BBC Radio 2's highest available bitrate file is 320kb/s using AAC-LC codec (lossy). That's in the UK. I don't know about outside the UK. Outside the UK the tool yt-dlp shows only M4A in 3 bitrates: 48, 51 and 96 kbps. Audio sample rate is 48kHz. I've tried get_iplayer outside of the UK with just the parameter --pid m0

BBC Radio 2's highest available bitrate file is 320kb/s using AAC-LC codec (lossy). That's in the UK. I don't know about outside the UK. The original iplayer downloader - get_iplayer, is still going and is what I use. By default it downloads the highest bitrate version in the AAC-LC codec. Exactly the same as if you selected to stream (or maybe download - I can't recall if

My first thought was surely so many songs can't be a soundcheck for the one single gig (Feb 28. 1983.) Seems he did 4 gigs at the Bottom Line. 25, 26, 28 Feb and 1 March with 2 shows each night. Not that I understand much with how groups and soundchecks work but I would of thought Reed and group would soundcheck on the 25th, or maybe the day before even, and that would be it for all 8 sh

I use Firefox browser with ublock origin and noscript which stops all javascript running on all the websites I visit period. Then if I'm on a website and I want javascript to run I turn it on for that website in the noscript settings. I don't know how people can use websites without something like ublock. Because a website can tell you are using ublock, some of them ask you to turn i

Quotestonesman87 Let me put it this way, in a very topical example: Q: What is the greatest rolk 'n' roll band in the world? A: So it's The Rolling Stones. Why "so" it's The Rolling Stones? We hear answers starting with the word "so" all the time. It's a habit that can be kicked with just a second's concentration to refrain from firstly

QuoteIrixA nice idea would be a tasteful Documentary about Charlie's life & his music - and the filming+recording of the recent tribute-performances could be part of it. Yes, I'd like to see some sort of documentary. I already have a name for it - Charlie Was A Darling.

Video DownloadHelper is a Firefox extension. I use Firefox and have this extension myself. Extensions don't come as default in Firefox. To get them, I make sure the Menu Bar is showing. Then under Tools in the Menu Bar go to Add-ons and Themes. Do a search for Video DownloadHelper and download it. Doesn't seem to help here though. I could get the Mayall Helsinki file, like you, but t

Quotewiredallnight Also unbelievable the bonus tracks on CD 2 stolen from my upload here: (new link in the link) I only joined this forum recently. I've made few posts, but had to comment here wiredallnight. Do you really find what's happened here "unbelievable"? It's absolutely typical isn't it? I vaguely recall that even if you're not a member here

Quotewhitem8 Its a shame your are using Facebook for your platform. I would love to join but I boycott all things Facebook. It is a corrupt business model and I do not want to support Zuckerburg! He is scum. Here here. It annoys me no end. It appears most people don't care. If you think you might care but need to know more have a look at the 2 links below. https://stallman.org/face

QuoteIrix Quotecrjowls Any chance that somebody who has looked through all the items can say if there was any unreleased audio amongst the lots? No, there were no RS-Tapes (except 8-Tracks). Simply scroll through the Auction-results: . Thanks Irix (I remember using Irix OS on a college computer in the early 1990s) I asked if anybody knew as it's a lot to go through. I could simpl

First post, after lurking for a few years. Starting to feel guilty about not thanking people for their uploads, as well as for the Stones vault files on Filefactory. Thanks exilestones. I had difficulty finding more info on these Laid in the Shade volumes. I tried to make an info sheet that was a little clearer, below. Don't know if it's any help to others. I also had to change
