1999 and 2013 of the ones I've been alive for. 1969 and 1972 for sure overall.

I think my hot take on this song is that this is maybe the only track I prefer live post-Wyman. The 1969-73 versions and the 1990 versions are too fast and lean. The song works best when it has some weight to it, like a marching stampede coming in at full force. My two favorite versions are Twickenham 2003 (which has the speed of the 1970s' version but sounds much tighter and purposeful)

Street Fighting Man in 2017 with the extended outros was sublime, among the very best versions of the song. I can listen to a five or six minute JFF from 2005 onward and never get bored. Keith hammering out the riff never gets old for me.

Bad Company over Joe Cocker and Chubby Checker and beating Cyndi in the top 5 is @#$%& wild. B Tier MOR band with a phenomenal vocalist over a Woodstock icon, an early rock trendsetter who should have been in the 1980s’, and a New Wave icon whose imprint on pop is still felt today is completely ridiculous.

The idea that modern cell phone videos don't capture the mood and sound of a show accurately is absurd. Watch this video from 2021 and tell me it doesn't portray that the band is absolutely on fire here. Jesus, watch Keith, he's like a kid.

QuoteMore Hot Rocks So you rank tours and shows without being there through I phone recordings? No, I rank them through my eyes and ears, thanks to the preponderance of top notch IEM and audience recordings, word of mouth from here and elsewhere, and yes, videos which are now also high quality and capture whether or not they’re tired.

With the current lull (I will not speculate on it being anything else) in touring, I think now would be a great time to assess how lucky we've been since 2012 to be getting the band as often and as good as they've been since resuming business for the 50th. This is by no means an academic ranking, but I figured this would be a fun discussion after listening to thousands of hours of bo

Those early Babylon shows are some of my favorites. Opening night in Chicago and the Texas Speedway shows are also excellent. Boys were absolutely on fire and they were doing lots of interesting songs. The band always puts on a great show in the New England area. One show I think disappears under the radar is Hartford 8/26/2005, an early Bang show with Keith in fine fettle. "Beast of Burd

Those 2021 JJF's are some of my favorite performances of the song. The Charlotte performance is a tour de force, Keith is totally amped up. I love 0:55, he does this little move where he hurls himself into the riff and it's totally badass to watch. Then later in the third verse where him and Mick square off at center stage. One of my favorite live Stones videos. L.A. 1 is an a

Of my 4 shows (Nashville 2015, DC 2019, Nashville 2021 and Atlanta 2024), here is how I rank his performances 2024>2019=2021>2015. So for me, he has been getting better since 2015. Anyone else h

1. Start Me Up (Atlantic City 1989) 1989 was simply the best tour for this song, the last time it had a real swing to it thanks to Bill and Charlie. The guitars sound rich and crunchy and Keith is on his game. 2. All Down the Line (Shine a Light) The second song needs to be something that keeps the momentum going, and I always love ADTL in this spot. For me, it's one of the

I have a lot of nostalgia for Shine a Light. I was 17 when it came out, and I remember it being a big deal for me since I only got to see one show early on in the Bang Tour (Giant Stadium '05 - great show but probably my least favorite of the ones I've seen). So I made it a point to go see it. My dad and I were the only ones in a little theater on Staten Island and I just remember

My thoughts on the show: - the Some Girls tracks really cook. "Shattered" is one of the best versions of a song they often failed to come close to nailing and gets the show off to a great start. "Respectable" is excellent, and "Some Girls" features smoking guitar from both Ron and especially Keith, who I think is on fire for the whole show. - probably the weakest
