I know people here are sick of it, Start Me Up will always be my preferred opening. The intro just feels like it’s announcing something big. It’s quick, punchy, and gets the blood flowing, and it’s structured in a way that they can’t really drag it out or let it overstay its welcome. JJF and SFM I like towards the end of a show where they can let Keith riff out a bit at the end.

One that never worked for me live that I really love is Almost Hear You Sigh. The studio version has an incredibly haunting atmosphere featuring one of the greatest vocals Mick has ever laid down as well as a beautiful acoustic solo from Keith. None of that came across onstage.

I think Some Girls is on par with the 1968-72 run. Maybe "Lies" dings it a little, but the rest of the album is so strong it's easy to overlook. I think my hot take on this song is that this is maybe the only track I prefer live post-Wyman. The 1969-73 versions and the 1990 versions are too fast and lean. The song works best when it has some weight to it, like a marching stampede coming in at full force. My two favorite versions are Twickenham 2003 (which has the speed of the 1970s' version but sounds much tighter and purposeful)
