I know people here are sick of it, Start Me Up will always be my preferred opening. The intro just feels like it’s announcing something big. It’s quick, punchy, and gets the blood flowing, and it’s structured in a way that they can’t really drag it out or let it overstay its welcome. JJF and SFM I like towards the end of a show where they can let Keith riff out a bit at the end.

One of my favorite shows from this tour / time period. Fantastic set list and a strong performance. Forgot how good Keith was this tour.

I liked the image of Keith sitting to play Gimme Shelter. It worked for the song; it made me think of an old blues man sitting on a stoop, playing his tunes one last time before the world ends.

Here's my ideal 2 cd release from the 2018-current era: Disc 1: 1. Street Fighting Man (Berlin 2018 or Los Angeles 2 2021) 2. 19th Nervous Breakdown (Atlanta 2021) 3. All Down the Line (Los Angeles 2 2021) 4. Bitch (Brussels 2022) 5. Rocks Off (Los Angeles 1 2021) 6. I Wanna Be Your Man (Liverpool 2022) 7. Emotional Rescue (Foxboro 2024) 8. Harlem Shuffle (Metlife 2 2019) 9. Be

If a 2017 show saw release, I'd prefer it to be Amsterdam. From what I've seen, that was a great, tight show with a cool set list (only YGMR of the tour and a rare Shine A Light that was released on the extended Honk). Only issue is that the Sympathy solo is kind of lame (but not a total trainwreck). Paris 2 is also a contender, as are Zurich and Arnhem. For 2012-13, I think the seco

If we need something from 2013, I used to think Echoplex just based on the cool set list. But if the actual performance is as rough as some people are saying, then I'd champion Philly 2 or Glastonbury.

The Stones without Mick or especially Keith is a ridiculous proposition. More than any other member, Keith is the foundation of the band. People can emulate him technically, but the feel, tone, timing, and rhythmic instinct that has driven their music all derive from him. He is the Human Riff for a reason. Mick tried in 1988; he had one of the most accomplished technical players in the worl

MetLife 2 2024. Keith going absolutely nuts kicking and crouching during JJF. Just completely alive and playing great.

I am only 35 years old. My footprint in the Stones world is small compared to some. I've only been to four shows since 2003. I would give anything to have done more, but logistics and money weren't on my side enough times for it to happen. Still, the Stones have been my favorite band since I was eight and the riff to Satisfaction seared its way into my brain. They are an indispensabl

I always felt the deluxe edition of GRRR! (if you can find it these days) was the perfect starting point for a casual fan.

I don't drink at shows and I usually do edibles because they relax me enough so that I can hold it in comfortably. I've never used a bathroom during a Stones show, there's too much I don't want to miss.

Found this video from St. Murray Stadium during Satisfaction. Mick does do what I'd consider a full stage dash at 11:30.

I'm hoping a Black and Blue track or two beyond Fool to Cry makes the set list. Didn't they at least rehearse Hot Stuff in 2022? It's not impossible - I don't think anyone saw them attempting Trouble's A-Coming a few times in 2021. I think this would be a perfectly reasonable set list: 1. Start Me Up 2. -- rotation -- (Cloud, ADTL, Bitch, etc.) 3. Tumbling Dice 4

A towering ballad with one of Mick's best vocal performances. Love this one, and it's always electrifying live. Ronnie used to smoke this one.

Yes, he has. He did it pretty often during the 2018 tour, usually during Street Fighting Man and at least one performance of Satisfaction. In 2019, he only did it once during SFM at opening night in Chicago, probably because he was still feeling things out post-heart surgery. But 2021-2022 it was a pretty regular occurence: Charlotte '21 Jack Flash and several performances of Honky

One that never worked for me live that I really love is Almost Hear You Sigh. The studio version has an incredibly haunting atmosphere featuring one of the greatest vocals Mick has ever laid down as well as a beautiful acoustic solo from Keith. None of that came across onstage.

NJ 2 is probably the best show they've played since Charlie died. Keith was ON FIRE that night.

I personally don't need Mick bounding across the stage and jumping about to give me my money's worth. He was definitely less active last tour than we're accustomed to but he is still somehow an incredibly captivating performer when he works with what he has.

In the 1999 versions I believe they flip flopped the lyrics about black girls and white girls 2006 didn’t have that verse at all. 2015 was a lyrical mess. I think Mick just repeated the same verse over and over.

I think Some Girls is on par with the 1968-72 run. Maybe "Lies" dings it a little, but the rest of the album is so strong it's easy to overlook. It was a very important record that definitively answered whether or not the band could stand strong against punk and disco. It's an important record for them and one of their best. Tattoo You is excellent. Yes, it's technical

I think my hot take on this song is that this is maybe the only track I prefer live post-Wyman. The 1969-73 versions and the 1990 versions are too fast and lean. The song works best when it has some weight to it, like a marching stampede coming in at full force. My two favorite versions are Twickenham 2003 (which has the speed of the 1970s' version but sounds much tighter and purposeful)

Street Fighting Man in 2017 with the extended outros was sublime, among the very best versions of the song. I can listen to a five or six minute JFF from 2005 onward and never get bored. Keith hammering out the riff never gets old for me.
