QuoteSway65 Quoteagureggae07 Let's hope a kind soul drops this song around these parts. Thanks!Seconded, a bit rough on fans who cannot access U.S iTunes. Don't like Apple, don't own their products (let's not get into a debate,) but I have on a very rare occasion bought a track on iTunes that is unavailable elsewhere. I finally caved and tried to buy "Bad Luck Hideaw

Quotepeoplewitheyes I love the Brussels Version (the original bootleg one), but the recorded studio version is indeed perfection, everything that I love about the funky, swampy, slightly-melancholy Stones. Yup. Duck

QuoteTurner68 They've never done it well live, and so sadly as a result for a lot of fans it isn't respected as much as it should be. But if you go back and listen to the studio track, it's perfect. The drumming, the vocals (esp the female vocals), the words, the riff... this is the rolling stones, rolling. I think I have to agree. Even the '72 tour live versions pale in c

QuoteMathijs Or they do not have any master tapes of any of the 1972 shows? Mathijs I think that's probably the case. I remember reading (have now looked and can't find the source) that they could not find the masters for "Ladies and Gentlemen" and the audio is directly from the film print, not the original soundboard tapes. The story goes they could not find the or

QuoteIrix QuoteStonedRambler The answer is simple: The majority of people do not care except a small group of „audiophiles“ on Internet forums Yes, I know. The majority of people seem to be satisfied with the audio quality mastered for kitchen radios, car stereos or thinly squawking smartphones. Glad that MFSL/MoFi or Analog Productions still have their customers. But their audiophile relea

As far as getting the "benefit" of a vinyl record, it depends on more than the digital master. The phonograph's pre-amp and the amplifier/receiver must also be analog (tube). Most people don't go to the expense of buying analog versions of these two components, negating most, if not all, of the "benefit" of buying vinyl. You also need to buy a high quality cartrid

Hi, There's plenty of information about the content of this release, mix, etc., but can someone tell us about the circumstances around the pressing? \Why was this mixed and pressed under the Apple label? Was there any follow on work done by Apple? Where was it pressed since in 1969 Apple was only a nameplate and had no physical facilities to speak of? Thanks. Duck

QuoteGasLightStreet That's a fair question. What Peter Jackson did for GET BACK in cleaning up the songs was/is a particular kind of AI, although supposedly not actually AI it's "deep machine learning" when it was being done, from what I understand, called Demixing. It was used on the mono recordings during rehearsals to separate the talking from the guitars. Giles

QuoteIrix QuoteChrisL Here is King Biscuit from Lexington, Kentucky (with Peter Tosh opening) Lexington (KY) is 29 June 1978 and there're many bootlegs - . The actual question of this thread is the complete, original recording of 14 June 1978, New Jersey and if it's on this new Japanese 2CD. Yes! And while the Passaic show was broadcast and I'm sure there are plenty o

Just for the record, the Japanese SHM CD of "Rewind" was released on May 22, 2019, along with SHM issues of "Sucking In The Seventies" and the long forgotten "Time Waits for No One: Anthology 1971–1977." Unlike most SHM CDs, all three were available through a lot of U.S. online retailers at almost competitive pricing. I think you could even order it from Target!

QuoteMathijs The Passaic show was never broadcasted. Fans stole the cassette from the tape desk of the sound guy, midway during SFM. That's also how the Woodstock tapes got out: a fan stole tape cassettes from the console. Mathijs That's what I know to be true for Passaic show, but this release states: "This release follows the discovery of the original New Jersey record

Hi, Just saw this release notice for the Stones in New Jersey in 1978. New Jersey 1979 KBFH The concert date coincides with the Capitol Theater show in Passaic. The cover says it's a King Biscuit show. That would be news to me. I have a few "Handsome Girls" releases, including the first TSP set. None of those have a New Jersey performance. To my knowledge, all the Kin

I did like the first three albums along with the work on "Alfie." That said, they're somewhere in the mediocre category when compared to the better half of the Stones discography. "Goddess In The Doorway," I bought and listened to once. I will say I think "Old Habits Die Hard" ranks with some of his best solo work, "best" of course being relative.

QuoteMeise QuoteRumbleblutz Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Saturday October 21st, 1989. One of the great setlists of our times. The setlist during the Steel Wheels Tour didn't change very much. Basically, they played the same songs every night. In those days we got 2,5 hrs with 25 songs ... my first time Stones experience during Urban Jungle in 1990 Just looked at that setlist and it has

Quotegeorgelicks Sales of Black and Blue were terrible, barely 1 week in the UK charts and it was the first deluxe edition that didn't enter the US Top 200. If the Stones don't do anything to increase their popularity, sales will get worse and worse since old fans are dying faster than new fans are joining. It didn't help that the actual deluxe edition was delayed in release unti

QuoteMathijs I can see why people regard Beck as one the best electric guitarists ever, right there with Hendrix, and from a technical point of view perhaps even the best. But I just can't listen to Beck...All this wizardry and his use of the tremolo bar makes it just not listenable for me. It's the same with Eddie van Halen: I can see that his technique is incredible, but I just can

Thanks again! I'm hoping one day for a true studio version of "When the Night Comes Falling From the Sky" without all the now very dated 80's production. Was hoping the official Bootleg Series would have it, but the alternate takes on "Springtime in New York: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 16" are pretty much that, just alternate takes, with most of the production styl

A tremendous "Thank You!" I've been trying to find the bluesy "Claudine" in good quality for decades ever since I bought the "Mega Trax" CD. The "Mega Trax" is a vinyl drop from a less than perfect source with a lot of surface noise. This version may be from the same source, but is a great improvement (Disc 6, Disc 1 "Claudine 1." Du
