They would be going up against the Grateful Dead. There is a PPV being offered this weekend for the shows the reformed Grateful Dead will be performing in Chicago this weekend. The commercial caught my attention yesterday as they were billing the Grateful Dead as the "Greatest Rock 'n Roll Band".

QuoteNaturalust Quoteroller99 OK Naturalust. Truce. Quebec is it's own country. I never found real French people condescending. Quebecois on the other hand.... No worries roller. I do recall a Mick (and Keith?) interview (about Exile?) where Mick talks about the rudeness of the French people. Say something like he hates it... Perhaps you speak good French but stories of the French p

Bowie was always my 2nd favorite after the Stones for many years. More recently I like the Allman Brothers. However, I really do like a lot of different artists. Going to the Nashville show and visiting the Mississippi Delta recently had me listen to a lot of Blues and also plenty of Country music. And since we also hit Memphis & Graceland there was plenty of Elvis along the way.

I got 536 but never even went to my seat. We self upgraded ourselves and ended up in 227 for most of the show. The other thing about the Pittsburgh Lucky Dips was that the tickets were already placed in envelopes by name so it didn't matter when you showed up. That was the case in Nashville.

They will definitely be able to make the stadiums look pretty full. One way or another, they will get people to come, pay something and make purchases from vending and merchandise. But you won't see the sell outs you use to see. Even back in 2006, I remember the last time the Stones played Gaints Stadium there were entire section that were tarped over and had been sold when they were there

I don't know why anyone is bother to look at Stubhub. Most of the shows aren't sold out and you can pull blocks of 8 tickets at the higher price range directly from Ticketmaster. It's definitely a buyers market.

Mick, so that I could ask him and hopefully get an answer to the age old question: Is it "1-2" or "Watch It" that he sings at the start of the recorded version of Jumpin' Jack Flash?

Speaking of Mick Taylor... if he isn't sick and he is definitely not going out on the road with the Stones this year, why isn't he playing his own dates? Nothing says your fine like going out and headlining your own dates.

Well anyone that reads Keno's post should know that he is no fan of either Mick (Jagger) or Keith. It's a very complicated relationship he has with the Stones. He may have loved them at one time but not anymore. He also may have some key contacts inside the Stones camp but none that are close to either Jagger or Richards. Finally, he seems to take everything at face value that he

QuoteDREAMTIME Tours either blow-out or they don't. The Who is a meltdown too. There are too many tours this summer, older people are dropping like flies, it's too expensive and quite irresponsible for anyone with children, I don't have any myself, and the idea of this being the tour not to be missed only applies to us real die-hards, locals and the idle rich... I definitely a

It's the Stones stage, if they want to have a guest that is their business. If people don't like the potential of a guest then stay home. I personally have no issues with having guests even if I am not crazy about the particular guest. I've seen plenty of shows where guests joined them and never felt it took from the show. I don't think you will see regular guests like you

Quotecoffeepotman It is a good show, I just watched the DVD the other night. Ronnie was awfully quiet and didn't move around much, it was definately Keef's show I was right on the rail in front of Ronnie for that show. One thing you have to remember was it was a sweltering hot night in Munich. It had to be over 45 degree Celsius inside the venue that night. It also wasn't a b

Quotetnhybrid Sorry to be a wet blanket but bands performing here virtually always cover either Ring of Fire or Folsom Prison as their "classic Nashville" tribute. They're easy to play (with only three or so chords, so no rehearsal) and bands seem to think they make good background for the show finale when everyone comes out to say goodbye. Don't know how you would get the

Quotekovach QuoteElmo Lewis Who sang "Blue Sky"? ABB was first concert I ever went to - Macon 1975 with Chuck on piano. Seen them a number of times since. Always impressive. I caught part of the show on Sirius yesterday, and caught Blue Sky, I'm thinking it was Warren Haynes as it sounded like Allman singing backup. I didn't remember Haynes sounding like that but then

Quotemjmjr would it be so hard to devote 15% of the show to the die hards who have traveled the world over to see them....that would be 4 whole songs.15 for the casual goer and 4 for the people who have made following them a way of life.....for pete's sake play time is on my side, play with fire, ruby, 19th nervous.....these are hits people would recognize......I don't think asking 15%

For about the price that are now being suggested, I got a full travel package (6 nights luxury hotel, 3 tickets for stadium, arena & club show along with a few other things) for the Munich Trilogy back in 2003. There were plenty of chances to see them play a club setting back during the Licks Tour.

QuoteJohnnyBGoode This something I've been wanting to do for a while and thinking about doing it sometime next year. Starting in Joplin and ending in Flagstaff, of course not the whole Route 66, and taking a flight back to the east coast from Flagstaff. Has anyone made this trip? Places to eat and stay? Places to check out? I plan on doing it, the entire way to LA by car. My German (Stone

Was the incident actually at that final show on December 18, 1981 in Hampton VA? I thought it took place at an earlier show at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. It is really a small detail but that was my understanding. Both shows were recorded but the final show was a pay-per-view event which I never caught. Footage from the other show was part of the film "Let's Spend The Night Tog

Quotehockenheim95 Hello, I am right now in Shanghai. Here are many CD Shops which sell CD boxes with the complete discography of many artists. They sell 2 Rolling Stones boxes. One is the Japanese "Greatest Albums in the Sixties" and one the well known Cube with the UME remasters. The point is that these boxes only costs about 30 Euro. Has anybody here got experiences with these

So the fact that STEEL WHEELS was released August 29th has nothing to do with the fact that the LP was released before the first show of the tour on August 31st? I can't actually remember when the Steel Wheels LP was released in the United States but Tuesday, August 29th sounds correct. In those day

QuoteRollingFreak Exile. An incredible album, but its never my number 1 despite the fact that many others consider it theirs. Whether you like it or not, its got a few songs that are filler whereas their other 40 minute albums are concise masterpieces. Sorry. Someone had to say it. Well said (written) and I completely agree.
