I loved that Scorsese had Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg out there giving him the award. I fought to stay awake to see it live. Then Nicholosn gave him a kiss off the side of stage too. Even Clint Eastwood looked relieved that Scorsese won LOL.I think the win for Best Film was a bonus and almost a surprise for Michael and the producers. Seemes like the only surprise of the night was Alan Arkin bea

I was there in Philly 78. And Foreigner most definetly payed those damn hits. And everyhting else they could think of. They would not go away. We were very rowdy and tired. I was way uo front and we'd been there for a loooong time; it was really rough. And all we wanted was the Stones. Sly Dunbar's drumkit had a tom tom knocked off when an orange hit it. Peter goes "Don't thro

Just want to say that the "new" Zemaitis that I referred to in another thread is his other "new" one. I have also not seen this one. It reminds me of his Slide Z, right Mathijs? The one with the circle in the middle.

We today listen to Pepper as an album of music, songs. In this aspect IMO Pepper is one of the weakest beatles albums. Musically it is my least fave of all their albums. But the reason I think Pepper got to where it is, is from the world that existed when it was released. The people of it's time made it what it is. And tht just can not be denied. It changed everyhting. It made this huge soca

The Stones' version of "Money" needs to be heard in Mono! Blows the Beatles version away. That is a howling harmonica.

Right, I recall reading that too; about the fans rioting. But who ended up playing? In the setlists from the tour they do the entire regular set. Even Keith's vocl numbers.

It's remarkable that it became such a signature Rod song, since this was a big reason that Ronnie Lane got pissed off at Rod for. Supposedly it was very much a Lane composition, and he was upset to see Rod not only use it on his soloalbum, but also not credit Lane.

Ronnie has really been around. To this day I still run into a new act or album that I wasn't aware of him playing on. What I like about Ron is that he is invloved with current bands as well as his older mentors.

I actually pick up a lot of reviews, info on rockmusic, pictures and stuff up from Uncut and Mojo. Their articles, essays are pretty good. At least they're about music. And every once in a while I have found a new band on the CDs. rarely..

In the latest Exile book Greenfield names his main soyrces at the end of the book. But throughout many of the more intersting quotes come form "Stones Insiders". He says they didn 't want to be named. Who could they be?

Erik, so I downloaded bitorrent to get started. I follow everything it saysd on RO help page but I get stuck once I am trying to download the first torrent. In the box it says the title of disc and under 'Progress' there is only a big red line. Nothing else is procewssing. I can see it say 0%. At the bottom it does say something about firewall. LZ III is pretty erratic. The power of the good songs carries the weaker ones."Immigrant Song", "Since I've been loving you", "Friends", "Gallow's Pole", "That's the way", "Tangerine" and "Bron'y'aur" are xcellent. I hate the two last songs: "Tiles" and "Roy Harper". But Page's

Strange how often a Stones shot will have Wyman, Brian or even Charlie cropped. Without Keith or Jagger it can never really be a "Stones" shot.

I think the Net has changed everything. There is no more mystery and awe when a band arrives because we all know every detail way in advance. The last few tours the buzz was gone in the cities I saw them in. Nothing at all compared to 78, 81 and even 89. With VL id was calming down. What else are the papers going to say that thye haven't said many times before? And the audience has grown ol
