I tried syncing this footage up before I saw that it had been done already, but I was able to figure out a few extra clips: The footage was donated by the filmer to a british show called 'The Footage Detectives' that aired last year - it was the end of a reel of general London scenes:

You could get about an hour on the tapes, so combination tape/battery reasons, yes. The Portapak Altamont footage was shot by Ira Schneider, an early video artist from NY - no affiliation with the official Maysles footage or any of the other film sources.

Yes, Sony Portapak video cameras were available, which used 1/2" open reel black and white videotape. This is what was used for the Detroit video, as well as the LA forum footage and Ira Schneider's amateur Altamont recordings. Unfortunately the low resolution of the image was significant enough to be banned by networks, which led to the development of public access television, like WAB

QuoteHis Majesty QuoteTheflyingDutchman I wonder if Brian has seen /was aware of this. Sorry, I thought it was the first guitar synthesiser ever. Given the Stones connection to Vox I'm sure he was. In 'White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day by Day' book, there's a mention from November 1965 of Al Aronowitz stopping by Angus Maclaise's Grand St apartme

This is my sync to the old transfer of this footage: Should be pretty easy to swap it for the upgraded visual.

Moving apartments and trying to sell off some books in the collection. The first is IORR forumite Erwin's thorough Tourbook '72 test printing, documenting the entire STP 72 tour and all the associated recordings. The book is in mint condition. $50 shipped in North America, elsewhere would be $40 plus full shipping cost. Here's a google drive link with photos:

Quotelenchik I could restore the original audio for some of the bits of JJF featured in this film. Maybe automaticchanger could do more on this... nice, looks good! I'll give this stuff a shot later this week when I have a minute.

I think this might be additional footage from the Cologne show - looks very similar to the pro shot footage I synced up a while back, though much better condition and different angles:

I've always been annoyed with how obvious the vocals overdubs are on this song in particular from Ladies and Gentlemen, so I decided to sync up the audience source for a lark and thought others might enjoy it as well:

My guess is it's an extraction from at atmos mix of the Tattoo You reissue or something along those lines.

some of the instrumental tracks on this box set aren't authentic fyi - specifically Track 15 and 16 (Honky Tonk Instrumental IV and V) are clearly modern karaoke instrumentals, same for Tracks 19 and 20 (Gimme Shelter Instrumental III and IV).

I just saw it and enjoyed it a lot more than I anticipated, just due to being an obsessive and knowing the footage from Journey Through the Past and the Archives site. He went for alternate scene edits almost the whole way through, and even entire scenes that he never released before, which was great. Our pal Stu is visible for a second with Glyn in the main studio with the Orchestra, plus two sc

Thanks for sharing, I was very curious to see this after reading the transcript. Truly a terrible interview, but Keith's suit is terrific haha

They may have and decided not to use it for whatever reason - I still don’t understand the situation about the rehearsal being the only footage released when we know they shot the second set with Keith in a different outfit. Still photos from the second set were even used on the cover art of the dvd release which makes it extra strange to me.

Could very well be Keith’s - I don’t have think Taylor initially brought any guitars into the gear pool beyond the SG and Keith’s former Lea Paul

QuoteMathijs We know for sure Keith was playing a 12-string at the Marque, but there's no acoustic to be seen for Taylor. ?

Quotelenchik Nice to see on YT the VHS transfer I uploaded about 15 years ago You could notice the audio has lower pitch in this version comparing to the official release. Wonder which version has true pitch... I didn't know you were the one that originally transferred it from tape - I got it from my copy of the 'Stoned Again by the Rockers' DVD comp. I had tried to upload the

yes, there's a few other partial clips, but I didn't find anything that justified a matrix edit beyond Honky Tonk. Not sure why there's so much dead space, perhaps they had limited film. It's definitely professionally shot for news purposes, though I've no idea who - I liberated it from an archive collection site.

QuoteFP Quoteautomaticchanger QuoteFPYes that's what I'm saying, there is no evidence of a Taylor rhythm guitar on Rock's Off. Mathijs was suggesting that rhythm parts were wiped from RO and RTJ but I don't hear evidence on any source that MT ever played a rhythm part on either. The Exhibitionism show had multitracks of a few songs available at a listening station - IORR memb

QuoteProfessorWolf also there's a short 8mm color film of the first or second show thats exist too and it's just dying to be properly synced I did that one a while ago: Based on matching audio with the audience recordings, my understanding is that the 8mm film is the early show and the b/w tape is the late show. Taylor's outfit is different between the two which provid

I checked the 69/70 yearbook, but there was no A/V club pictured. Only Stones content was one photo: In the Student paper from the 20th there's two articles complaining about the delays in show times and unexpected equipment costs (common complaints for the tour): Brief mention of expected costs and a general article on the band in the Nov 13th issue:

QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteMadMax I stood at the Metro station last night when a geezer around 70 years old walked up to me and asked me about my Stones badge pinned to my parka. We started talking and he mentions he got about 4 minutes of Super 8 footage of the show at Råsunda 1970. I asked him to go transfer it to VHS or DVD and then maybe he could be able to sell it or at least get it out for oth

I tried my best to do a quick sync of the 67 footage - unfortunately the clip is looped and doesn't contain much, and the circulating audio for 'The Last Time' has a cut, but it's still the only (?) colour footage from the tour:
