QuoteLHS1977 What would Keith think of these guys? Who cares? What music I enjoy does not depend on whether or not Keith would like it...

QuoteRisingStone QuoteStoneage I understand the sex appeal - the singer not the song. The music? They sound like a hundred other bands. Can't tell the difference. Sex sells though. It always has. Are they ‘sexy’? Yes, there is some innuendo in their songs, but I don’t think they sell sex in the same way Madonna does for example. The lead singer is a sexy as F*** but would be more intere

QuoteRisingStone Although I’m on the same ‘Stones will be back on stage’ boat as StonedRambler, I wouldn’t buy that ‘rock till you drop’ romanticism. It’s just another cliched rock ‘n’ roll rhetoric. Mick ‘n’ Keef won’t die on stage. They will retire from live activities someday, sooner rather than later, I’d say. As much as it fits the 'reputation' to think they'll carry on un

David Gilmour set up 4 residencies in 2024: 6 nights each in Rome, London, LA and NY. The venues he played wouldn't probably work for The Stones but it gives you an idea of what it could look like.

Ah, my mistake! So.if you didn't go looking for him Rosemary invited you around and Roger, as he was then known by, agreed to meet you? If not, I'd probably do some research into why what you did, even 40+ years later, isn't something to be proudly telling... Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 Well first of all I did not go looking for him. Second, I have proudly told the story

Maybe you should read up on why Syd Barrett was an effective recluse and the opinions of Gilmour and Waters about those who tried to find him before proudly telling that story again....Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 You never know what you get when you visit a home of a former or current musician. In 1982 my friend Richard took me to the home Syd Barret was living in. I got out of the car, knocked o

QuoteStoneage Why did the well run dry? ... or ... if the Stones had stopped after the 1981/82 tour would it have mattered to their legacy? I'm thinking about their last big hit, Start Me Up, in 1981 and the emphasize on their sixties and seventies output in the setlists since anno dazumal. The word is free. Please give me your opinion about this. Maybe I'm altogether wrong about

Blu Ray never took off in the UK so if you're based there always best to order in advance as DVDs are far more popular and they'll make a lot more of those.

Quoteredkev Got to say I really wasn't expecting this to be so good. I am delighted with early listenings. There wasn't a single track that I thought "oh dear this one is pretty bad". There are some really catchy sing along choruses (something I think Jagger does much better than verses as time has gone on ie over the last 40 years!). I can understand some of the scepti

Genuine and unloaded question: Does that also apply to those who are praising the album? That's a fair point, Lee. I've yet to only skim through the Hackney Diamond tracks, so c

Huge Kate Bush fan here. Love the diversity of her work and how brave she is to often stick to what she wants to do rather than concentrate on making music she thinks others will like. Not every album/track works - The Dreaming is still an album I struggle with - but she's never not interesting. She's not for everyone but once you 'get' her you become gripped.

Listened to it a few times now and it grows on you. Is it classic Stones? Far from it, but it's a good track and a good album opener.
