Canada is governed by fools-both at the provincial and federal levels. They should do a mini-tour of the US in the fall and go to Europe in 2022.

QuoteNilsHolgersson Under the new reporting scheme, the CDC said that 1,811 vaccinated people with breakthrough COVID-19 cases were hospitalized and another 353 died between May 1 and May 17. As of May 17, more than 123 million Americans were fully vaccinated. On May 27, the number was nearly 132 million. As more people are vaccinated, more breakthrough cases —including hospitalizations and death

Can't find the tour on TM, but the old links work in my browser. Going to buy Buffalo at face value and hope they reschedule which is highly likely.

Just noticed how many more floor seats there are in Vancouver than the other venues. Not including the two Pits and any rear GA, most venues have approximately 3900 floor seats. Vancouver has 5500 not to mention a large GA section at the back. This is also the best selling show thus far. I guess they did their homework on this one.

Definitely driving this time. As mentioned, only issue in 2015 was the limited supply of cabs/Uber.

2015 show was awesome, band was solid, weather great. Crowd was good too, only issue was trying to get a cab back to my hotel was a challenge, but excited to go back. Will drive this time.

Quotednewton99 hello - very helpful table - anybody have a table showing if the venue is a baseball or football stadium. If this is the dnewton from YouTube, I love your videos! Football stadiums again this summer. No baseball.

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteTiminIndy In case anyone else is curious, below is how these metro areas rank by population. I started to go by city population, then realized metropolitan statistical area is more fair. I ranked Vancouver, BC as if it were a US city. Vancouver's going to pull from all over BC 4.5 million, and as the only Canadian city, a lot of traveller's from Alberta

If you're only able to play 15-17 shows at a time, arenas don't make any sense. US football stadiums are vacant in the Spring and Summer and allow them to generate $100+ million every time.

It would cost next to nothing to play at SDCCU. It also keeps with the theme of playing NFL Stadiums that are not in season.

QuoteWelshEdge1 Burl's Creek seemed like a nightmare to get to, in the middle of nowhere. They should have played at the Rogers Centre. Oh well. The tour only used US football stadiums. The only reason the Stones played that show was because the owner of the venue gave them a sweet guarantee ($7.5M US) and it was a cool way to play one different show (just like Quebec in 2015). QuoteHairball QuoteSlimreaper Pasadena the biggest show? At 56.000+ not even close...Burl's Creek 70,000+ just sayin' I said "perhaps the biggest/fastest selling"....meaning I wasn't completely sure. And besides, I was referring to stadiums - not some outdoor festival north of the border way out in the boonies miles away from civilization. But seriously...Burl

Band wants roughly $7M+(US) guaranteed to play a show, so that obviously eliminates a lot of festivals/venues.

Quotedcba I don't think Keef ever had one business-oriented idea (or bad ones like "hey stadiums suck, let's play small venues"). Mick alone manages the band on all non-musical aspects and I don't think any other band member has to complain about him... (except travelling to the seediest part of the Paris suburbs to reach their rehearsal HQ in 2012 and 2014!) ><

They don't price tickets to sellout. They only play 15-17 shows at a time now, the goal is to maximize profit which means there are going to be empty seats because it is impossible to know the highest price every fan is willing to pay.

Quote24FPS There has to be something novel. A brand new setlist. Your choice of nights, rarities, or worn out warhorses. They've wrung the last grapes from the vineyard. Not sure about that, the US numbers continue to impress.

It's quite clear at this point that their health, insurance etc., will not allow them to do more than 15-17 shows at a time. Knowing that and the fact that, at least in NA, the band wants a minimum of $7.5M (US) per show, stadiums make the most sense. Trying to price a 15 show arena tour and generate $100M+ is a tough ask that puts way too much risk on the promoter. Stadiums mitigate

This show will have the highest average selling price of the tour, but will gross less than MetLife due to smaller capacity. Should be a great end to a very successful summer.

I think for the money they charge, the number should be 20-22 every night. I don't expect more than that given the energy and effort Jagger brings every night.

I think the current one is a good blend of modern technology and minimal staging given the fact they aren't doing a huge tour. If you're judging the stage you have to take into account the size and scope of the tour. The current one is pretty good all things considered.

Quotevirgil Here's a little perspective on the horrendous ticket scam Ticketmaster and the Rolling Stones collectively have played on the adoring public. If you pull up TM right now for the Foxboro show there are plenty of tickets available both face value and verified resale ( which is legalized scalping) Anyway:face value section 105 row 7 seats 1&2 $319.00 plus fees. Face Value

This show isn't selling well. Prices on secondary market are at or below face value. TM has flexed the entire venue down but there are huge blocks of tickets unsold. Credit to the Stones for trying to make up for JazzFest, but it appears they should have skipped New Orleans.
