QuoteSpud I'm not one for analysing anything much ... ..but I'm still getting this album out and playing it on a frequent basis. Yeah well I’m still getting beer out of the fridge and drinking it on a frequent basis. Mainly Warsteiner, a German pilsner. Is it that delicious or am I just an alcoholic? If I’m sick I may not be capable of answering that question, at least not honest

Wow, that's a fair amount of love, isn't it?! It's an awards ceremony, not for actual sales. Hackney Diamonds has sold close to 70,000 in Japan, the Gold Award level for albums is 100,00

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteStoneage So, the logic is: If you don't like it you're allowed to state it once, maybe a couple of times, but if you like it there is no such limit? I get it if people tend to be repetitive though... Can't you just be satisfied in not liking something, is it that you have to convince everyone else not to like it too? Is there some sort of "satisfact

My review of HD. Let me preface it by saying I haven’t listened to it in months. Angry – Vacuous lyrics (sad when compared to Mick’s truly provocative lyrics in the 60s and 70s but I suppose we should all be used to it by now) but the mediocrity of the song is partially concealed by the production. It kinda sounds like ‘Sweethearts Together’ on steroids. It’s ok, I guess, if you’re the kind of

QuoteBlueLands Does Liberace count? September 1984. Toronto. O'Keefe Centre. But, if not, then it was the Stones, Toronto Skydome, 1989. I only knew a couple of songs. I'd never heard Brown Sugar or Gimme Shelter or Jumpin' Jack Flash before. Wow! That concert changed my life forever. LOL I was at that concert too (the Stones at Skydome, not Liberace). My first concert

Quotedmay What an interesting list of books. I've read a few on the list, but, wow, what a diversity of genres. Would love to know what the Stones (and others) read, have read. I haven't read a novel in at least a decade but I used to be a voracious reader. I can tick off 25 of the books on Bowie's list, all novels. Who can top that? Great Expectations? Isn't that re

QuoteBig Al What? No Starsky and Hutch fans? I thought, that with all the Boomers amongst us, there'd be a few posting here. The show is before my time, so I can't comment; and I don't remember seeing repeats during the 90's. I was also unware that he sang and had a couple of #1's. I was only 7 y/o when S & H first aired. My mom didn't let me watch crime dramas

As much as I pray that my 5 y/o becomes a Stones fan like his old man, I wouldn't take him to a concert of my choosing. Simple as that I think. On a related note, however, I have an 8 y/o dog named 'Angie' who wags her tail whenever I play - you guessed it - 'Angie.' If I make my son sing 'Angie' to her and post it on Facebook or YouTube will he hate me later

This isn’t the best song on the album (that honor probably belongs to one of the Jagger numbers) but it’s my favorite. For me this is the only song that can trace its roots back to Exile. Not that it sounds like it could’ve been written during the Exile sessions – it doesn’t – but in this song I dreamily see and hear those same lions who roamed the earth during my youth. Mick and Keith were lions

Who sings Honky Tonk Women in the shower? I’ll answer that question but first let me just say that I’m enjoying the new album immensely while recognizing that it doesn’t have long legs. By that I mean I won’t be spinning this a year from now. For me this is ‘She’s The Boss’ all over again. Although Wandering Spirit obviously has more Stonesy sex appeal I’ve long considered ‘She’s The Boss’ to

QuoteThe Joker Some Beatles tribute bands have a left-handed bass player Brings some questions Is this a non-negotiable requirement? The bass player could be a right-handed lesbian from Ghana playing with her back to the crowd and a photo of McCartney taped to the back of her head for all I care.

This song is an insult to Stones fans who dogmatically refuse to buy Jagger solo records. He’s been jailed for lesser offences.

A compassionate and groundbreaking piece of music in which Keith reinvents himself as the poster boy for musician-assisted suicides. I ask you - What man intent on blowing his brains out but lacking sufficient courage to pull the trigger wouldn’t be grateful to hear this dirge? BANG!

“One Mississippi, two Mississippi…” Far and away the funniest line in the history of film thanks to Mick’s thespian skills. Jagger was robbed by the Academy (again). Oh, Hairball was, is, and will continue to be a w@nker…cradle to grave – don’t need a time machine to know that.

Jagger looks and sings like an escaped mental patient but that could be by design I suppose…It’s also rather noisy but that probably works to the song’s advantage –if an acoustic version of this song were released I feel Keith would be justified in circulating a petition to lock Jagger out of studios (including his own). It could be realized too through an intervention with some trickery. Every t

Quote24FPS The discussion was about how you/we felt about rock stars having sex with underage girls, and if it colors who we feel about their art. And I'm not trying to play Scrabble here, I am playing Scrabble here. Because this has gotten much too periphrastic. You're not playing Scrabble. You and your 'adult conversation' are scurrying down 'Smart Ass Lane,'

And not just because she was so "average-looking" as you say, but also because she always seemed a bit brash and obnoxious. The music of the Stones and some others will be featured in commercials etc. for eternity but only the trivia buffs will be able to tell the bands apart. It’ll be just like classical music today…I’ll hear some famous piece playing in the background and say ‘isn’t that Mozart? And my friend will correct me: ‘No, that’s Puccini.” But of course we’re both wrong.

Agree with you Swayed, Leonard’s lyrics are an abundance of riches
