Up there with the big four for me, and along with Exile and Ya-Ya's my fave album: the three albums with the most live feel. Like others said, it's almost an encyclopedia of musical styles of the '70's. Even Lies, the weakest track - must be like walking past a garage in NY in '77 and hearing a punk band play. Totally love ronnie on SG.

Any one knows if this exists? In the wake of the show I heard rumours about someone having filmed it. Can't remember if it was here or on another forum.

Timeless. I showed my 12 yr old son clips of Johnny B Goode and the Duck walk this morning and he was transfixed. He recognized the coolness.

Quotedcba QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa ...'Place Pigalle', as far as I know, was a notorious era in the 70's in Paris for dope, hookers & (all) other misdemeanors... (although that's only 'hear-say' on my part! ) It's been longer than that... Alas nowadays it's about as dangerous as 42th St. in NYC = it's been completely cleaned/gentrified. And

QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa QuoteGreg Lol DP, I just came across that same post by Gazza, after realizing the correct name of the studio. Still wondering what the reason is the bootleggers named those sessions Place Pigalle. Is there a link? Anyway, will be visiting the tennis museum at Rolland Garros so probably have a look there. ...'Place Pigalle', as far as I know, was a notorious er

RIP Johan. Sad day. Top players like Messi et al should do the Cruijff turn in their next match as a tribute. Btw guys: Cruijff, not Cruyff.

Nate The police were using rubber bullets to stop the ticketless from forcing their way into the stadium. Ok I hope no one was hurt,I don't know anything about guns or bullets but in the video

QuoteSimonN Hello, Like many fans I find it a bit hard to accept that the man has passed on...one thing that does make it easier when I think of him and his effect is his sense of humour and how surprisingly grounded he was...at least as much as it was possible in his position and after his experiences. Anyway, enough of my waffle- I saw this online today and it made me smile. I hope that i

Quoterebelrebel QuoteBoognish Interesting observation from Reddit: Bowie's "Lazarus" video was released FOUR DAYS before his death. If you Google Lazarus, you get "Lazarus of Bethany, also known as Saint Lazarus or Lazarus of the Four Days" https://www.reddit.com/r/DavidBowie/comments/40n35m/bowies_lazarus_video_was_released_four_days/ It makes me wonder, did Bowie e

The line "where the fuxk did monday go" has been haunting me the whole week, like the harmonica in I Can't Give it all away quoting A New Career in a New Town [!] , all the echoes of his life and work in those 7 songs. And now these bare feet and him laughing in the face of death?.. Living and dying with David Bowie. I feel immensely sad, yet at the same time I want get up at night

Saw him live in the '80's, '90's and '00's. Ahoy 2003 FOS was one of my best concert experiences ever. A true genius of pop and I think a great man too. RIP. I feel old suddenly.

Immortal, the only Stones album that never leaves my MP3-player. It's not just the playing and tempi, but also the full, fat, leathery sound.
