The Rolling Stones get a mention in this boxing story ... By BRIAN MAHONEY NEW YORK (AP) — Gervonta Davis will pack the place Saturday night, just as he always does when he fights. “Tank” set a record for a boxing card in Brooklyn with an announced crowd of nearly 19,000 fans the last time he fought there, then drew more than that in Washington and Las Vegas for his next two fights.

Quote24FPS QuoteChrisL Quote24FPS I hope the prices aren't way, way out of my league. I can hope can't I? Same. OMG! I just looked up seats for the Los Angeles shows. 710$ for the furthest seats from the stage! Over a thousand for a decent seat! That's obscene. And his voice is not as strong as it was! F this, and F the price gougers. According to this article, they will be b

I bought the ...SAD SONGS IS ALL I KNOW version on vinyl when I was in high school, sometime around 1984 or 1985. I recently found an old essay or some writing for high school where I mentioned I had bought it.

QuoteRollingFreak Quotesnoopy2 P.s. still miffed a bit about the whole gag of Rollin Thunder Revue.. Bob I get doing it, but Marty? Maybe Taxi Driver is really a documentary disguised as narrative. I don't disagree, but what are ya gonna do. Marty is an ass kisser, so he'll do whatever the artist wants. And I guess its be able to make one under Bob's conditions, with new interviews

Quotesnoopy2 Finally watched Rolling Thunder Revue, didn't think I would enjoy it but I fell in love with it.. I thought some of the live performances were amazing, Isis, Hurricane, my favorite part was watching a more modern day Dylan reflect back on it, it's the most unguarded I remember seeing him in interviews -- maybe there's a lot more interview material like that but the cli

Two somewhat famous people in the American sports world passed away this month who were Stones fans. Sportscaster Greg Gumbel and Seattle Kraken owner David Bonderman. Former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason wrote on Twitter: Greg Gumbel touched the lives of many with his warmth, professionalism, and humor. His love for the Rolling Stones was one of shear joy. He leaves a legacy behind that

Quoteslewan hard to tell – it depends on what you want/need/like. But I guess it's a safe bet to go for the rare songs that are not on the live 1974 box. Especially those song that have only been performed once in 1974: Visions of Johanna (Denver Feb, 6th, afternoon show) Fouth Time Around (Memphis Jan. 23th) and – of course – As I Went Out One Morning (only performance ever, Toron

Quoteslewan Dylan and Sony have done it again. This year's copyright collection is now available on Spotify (only accessable in Europe). It features all (audience) live recordings from the 1974 that were not included in live 1974 released in September. Thanks slewan. Please let us know if you find anything worth grabbing from that new dump.

I saw Taj a few years ago, on Sept. 23 (maybe 2021). I was there during soundcheck sitting near his tour manager who was doing the front-of-house sound. The guy turned to me and asked, what day is it today, the 23rd? I said yes, Sept. 23, John Coltrane's birthday. So the manager speaks into the soundboard mic and says "It's John Coltrane's birthday." Taj then started

Quotedmay He deserves a place in the Hall of Fame. A plaque could be put up noting his gambling and banning for the same, but as a baseball player, he was one of the greatest. As for baseball itself, I haven't watched it since the glory days of the Baltimore Orioles and manager the late Earl Weaver. One of the greatest!

Modern sports all have some link to gambling these days. And I think there's a mistake in the obit. I think Wee Willie Keeler has the NL record for longest hitting streak. QuoteTravelinMan MLB is a joke and I haven’t followed it closely since the strike of ‘94. Too many games, too many teams in the playoffs, outright cheaters don’t get punished (Astros World Series) That said, RIP Pete Rose. Should be in the hall of fame for play alone. They made him a martyr and he never bet on his own team. How many schmucks are legally betting today? I believe he admitted

And it's not Dylan at his best, vocally, caught between Nashville croonery and Rolling Thunder shout, which does get wearing and doesn't carry the weight of the songs like 1975-76 or 1978 .... https://the

If anyone has the time to read this about the Oakland shows, it looks pretty cool. I only read some of it ... He does have this ... The closed circuit TV screen, looming large above the stage, allows scrutiny of his facial movement: He moves like a ballet dancer who knows he’s baaad. “I was born in a crossfire hurricane,” he almost pouts; as “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” begins, he’s a bit off t
