QuoteGasLightStreet Just got the red and blue remix comps... a glorious couple of comps that have been expanded beyond the original issues. The Beatles win again. Although it's not the Stones' fault - ABKCO sucks. I don't get what the Beatles win. ABKCO did do it in 2002 when they remastered the collection. More Hot Rocks had three bonus tracks added: Everybody Needs Some

I just received the US version of 'Through The Past, Darkly' on vinyl and I think it sounds great. ABKCO Records did a great job with the album. It's in the original octagon cover and it sounds splendid. This album turned me onto the Stones in 1979, so it was good to get it on vinyl again. A minor thing but it looks like Brian's birth year was corrected from 1943 to 1942.

Does anyone have any interviews where Brian talks about the dulcimer other than the Beat Instrumental article from 1966?

They did interview Bill Wyman for the documentary and he took film footage of the Stones when Brian was with the band. Maybe he let them use some footage of his or they just found some archival footage somewhere. I hope they are true to their word. Seeing new footage is always interesting.

Yes, I did test it with other players and it did the same thing in the exact same parts of the song. I returned it. I wanted to see if other people had the same problems then I would know it was a manufacturer's defect and I wouldn't see any reason to buy it again.

I am curious to know if anyone here has problems with their Out Of Our Heads compact disc of the UK version. Not the original SACD, but the newer DSD Remastered one which comes in the plastic jewel case. About 1:52 into "Mercy Mercy" there is a slight skip but not the usual CD skip like there is dirt on the disc. It also has two skips on "Heart Of Stone". I cleaned it and noth

Hopefully, it's in 4K. The one for "Have You Seen Your Mother?" with the live concert footage was disappointing. It did not have a good picture quality to it.

In the 1960s the Rolling Stones' American record label, London Records, put out jukebox EPs that were 7 inches (like 45's) but played on 33 1/3 RPMs. Each EP contained about five songs and was for jukeboxes only and not for the public. They are big collectors' items. I've seen ones for the following albums: 12 x 5, Rolling Stones, Now!, Out Of Our Heads, December's Childr

Yes, he was one of a kind who will never be replaced. He also did football games many years ago, the last game he called was the 1981 NFC Championship Game between the Cowboys and 49ers when Dwight Clark made 'The Catch'.

Quote24FPS Maybe this restoration signals something is coming vis a vis a video compilation. That's a live version, the second, non-makeup one. At the end I hear some organ playing. I wonder who that was? I've always read that Bill played the funky little outgoing organ piece on the studio version of the song. Now this organ part being played on the non-makeup video is nowhere near the

These songs are out there in stereo, although not all of them have an official release, there are many more songs the Stones recorded in stereo but have never been released officially or unofficially.

It's M & K I think that are calling the shots on previously unreleased material from the 60s. There were outtakes of songs for a bonus disc originally planned for the 50th-anniversary box set for Their Satanic, but th

This is excellent research on the Rolling Stones album cover artwork for Their Satanic as well as the other album covers. With the exception of a few things that I question, it is very good. Does anyone know who the author Charles Yo is? Rob

This is a less expensive version of the Brian Jones book "Butterfly In The Park" with photos by Michael Cooper. The first version was a limited edition book that sold for hundreds of dollars and out of most people's price range. Michael Cooper took some of the most iconic images of the band in the 1960s and this should be a good one. Now it can be ordered in paperback through the f

It's possible there might have been a company in Japan that was doing 3-D/Lenticular images like Vari-Vue and that's where the confusion comes in. I can only go by what these two Vari-Vue historians told me. One man said the camera was a Vidoe Vision camera aka Anderson Camera, named after the founder of Vari-Vue, Vincent Anderson. I'm still researching this so I may find out more.

Thank you. I appreciate your response. Yes, I've heard it might have been Michael Cooper, but I also heard the maze, anyway, was designed by Brian Jones. The problem with this album is that the information written about it doesn't seem to be very accurate. I was always led to believe it was a Japanese camera that was used to take the 3-D cover and it cost $25,000. I also heard that

It's tough as there are so many Stones albums to choose from, Let It Bleed, Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!, Sticky Fingers, Exile, etc, etc, but my personal favorite four Stones albums are probably: Out Of Our Heads (US) Aftermath (US) Their Satanic Majesties Request - to me, this is a very underrated album. Beggars Banquet

He Guys! I think some people overlooked the link. I believe this photo appeared on a thread here a while back. By clicking this link can anyone identify the artwork in the frame in the photo below? Was this original artwork by Michael Cooper, or is it artwork by an artist that was used for the inside of the record sleeve for Their Satanic Majesties Request?

I heard that's how much the camera cost to take the photos, but I don't know how true that is. I would assume it was pretty expensive to make at the time because the lenticular/3-D piece had to be glued to the album cover, and the thousands of pieces they had made must have been pricey. Do you have any interviews where the band members talk about the album cover? Rob

Hi everyone! I'm writing to ask a question. Does anyone on here have information on how the Their Satanic Majesties Request 3-D cover came about? Who came up with the idea to do the cover in 3-D? Was it something Michael Cooper knew about and suggested to the band, or did one of the band members come up with the idea? Does anyone know how much it cost to make? Does anyone have any intervi

I saw the Danny Garcia documentary on Brian Jones. To me it was good at best. No Stones music and interviews with people who once ran the Brian Jones Fan Club. There were rumors of another documentary film about Brian that would have included Stones music but it's on hold right now.
