We are downtown, next to the war memorial (I think, huge monument downtown?). Anyway, we can see it from the room. Probably going to check out the art museum tomorrow morning. To clarify: no one thinks I should arrive before 8:00?

Checked into the hotel. I'm in gold and planning on getting there tomorrow around 7:30-8:00 and going in 8:30~ unless someone convinces me otherwise. Anyone have ideas of what my wife and I can get into tomorrow during the day?

Still no gold tickets. I don't know why it took so long to print/ship, but I cannot come up with an excuse that is reasonable.

They obviously decided to forgo the cool rock band opener in lieu of a middle aged boy band that typically plays pride festivals and pontoon boat races.

Does anyone know what the schedule will be for day of? I know there is a general 1:00 gates open, 8:00 show, 11:30 fireworks and 12:00 closed, but are concert goers expected to go into the ground at 1:00 and start drinking? Tailgating for 7 hours seems excessive. Any news on opening acts?

QuoteSnoopy Hey! Newbie on these forums, lifelong Stones fan. Anyone have experience with Gold VIP tickets being any good? Got nosebleed tickets for Nashville but decided "heck with that" cuz haven't seen Stones since '81 tour, so got back on and found Gold Vip tkts for section 114.. Seems ok on the map, but I'm coming from Alaska and have no idea what seating is like

Quotejjswift Does anyone know if the section J seats in Nashville would be good? Need advice from my fellow Stones fans. This will be our first Stones concert and any advice from those in the know will be greatly appreciated!!! According to ticketmaster that is on the field, center of the stage between the 40 yard line and the end zone.

This is the best map I could find of the downtown area. Best Western isn't shown but if you follow Demounbreun to the left (west) you will come to a round-about near Tin Roof, Dan McGuinness and other bars and restaurants. Division and your hotel are a block away. On Division on the other side of the round about are more bars and restaurants - but this is more of a college crowd (

QuoteLeonioid Quotestoneman I went to the IMS ticket office today. The person in charge told me, pop up tents, chairs and coolers are allowed in the infield only. No open uncontained fires/grills. Normal outdoor propane grill is fine. All sections are general admission. There will be no sub sections barriers within each section. She even sold me tix a day early. 7hr tailgate party...have fun

QuoteMaura94 Thanks Awebb, I have the UBER App and use it all the time. Just wondering if Division Street is far from the country bars. Going for a couple of extra days. Any bars which are considered better than others. Appreciate all the info. Hoping perhaps we can all set up a good pre-game before the concert at one of these places. Thanks You're very close. Demonbreun Ave runs parall

QuoteRSbestbandever Checking out Doubletree Hotel on 4th ave, looks about like 10 blocks to get to pedestrian bridge, anybody else got rooms at this hotel and if so, any idea if they might have shuttle service to the concert. The clerk said they did have but thought it ended at 10pm or so. Sheesh, hard to get information from some of these hotels about their services. Sorry guys. Got wrapped up

QuoteMaura94 Thanks Aweb for the info. Is the Best Western on Division street faerie by UBER from where these Honky Tonks are on Broadway? Thanks I just looked (you will need to download the app if you want to use Uber, but it's easier, cheaper, and safer than cabs) and an Uber ride from your hotel to the stadium is $8. If I were you I would take it to Bridgestone arena and just bar hop

For sure, very walkable. If you're staying downtown. If you get a hotel towards Vanderbilt University or in the Gulch area I would say a cab might be in order. Also, something I want to emphasize is that while the Gaylord Hotel is both massive and amazing, it's a minimum 30 minute drive to the stadium. It is VERY far away from downtown and essentially everywhere you'd want to b

QuoteRSbestbandever Thanks Awebb7 for the info, I will continue to check out hotels closer to the pedestrian bridge as there may be some cancellations if some ticket plans fall thru. I will keep my reservation for the time being at the Embassy as the agent said there might be shuttle service to the concert though I won't count on it. Absolutely keep the reservation. This weekend the NRA co

You are correct. The Embassy is not really a walkable distance, and there is a lot of traffic you would be contending with as a pedestrian. If you want to use Uber, Lift or a local cab you could get it to take you to Lower Broadway where the "honky tonks" are and then walk over later. The Hotels downtown are going to be close to $400-$500/night.

You can take a cheap uber from your hotel to lower Broadway where the bars are and walk across a pedestrian bridge to the stadium.

I understand. And I am in gold, so I feel pretty confident that it isn't going to go south. I hope they have cooling stations and plenty to eat and drink, which I think they should. Regardless, it will be a good show. I am sad that I won't get to see them at home (Nashville) because of another trip.

Different strokes I suppose. I'm excited about Indy. I love ga concerts and the all day standing. As long as it isn't raining then I am sure sitting on the ground for a while isn't out of the question. I am also not sure that the people paying $100-$400 per ticket are the same demographic that are planning to get incredibly rowdy. I am sure there will be some outliers, but I w

Quote24FPS Quoteindystonesfan Having serious doubts about Indy show. Lack of shade and seats is difficult. Will try to call track office and ask about entrance to show area. Could it be possible to tailgate up until showtime and still get reasonable position near stage? Also worried about crowd at this "event". Bronze could get rough late into night. There are usually a lot of o

Now that tickets are in hand the only other item to consider is who the opener will be, and whether I should arrive at 1:00 p.m. to tailgate for 5 hours before the show.
