It's not that simple. Some opponents say that at the end the state (subtitle the people) will pay. And very probably the tax deduction will be raised from 60 % to 75 % (and not 90 % as far as i know). But: 1/ Fondations (non profit) don't pay taxes and won't get a tax credit. 2/ Foreign donators won't. 3/ One of the big french donators (don't remember if it's Ber

I couldn't agree more.Notre Dame may be the big one, one of the most famous, if not the most famous cathedral in the world, but the much smaller Sainte Chapelle is mindblowing. Beautifull ground, amazing stained glass, very thin pillars...there is something that hit you when you pass the entrance and turn you very emotional (and i say that as a strong atheist). Plan your visit on a sunny da

Quotedcba QuoteMononoM Quotedcba For a start people already argue about the best way to redo the roof. With a wood structure (as it was till yesterday) or with steel or concrete (which don't burn). i hope they make it wood, exact the same as it was. So do I! Would you imagine one of the Mount Rushmore faces redone with 3-d printers? Except that the Mount Rushmore faces are the whole m

Quotedcba Quotemtaylor Paris. Recording new album and tour rehearsals Hell no! The place they chose in 2012 and 2014 was a dump in terms of security and it was located in a bad bad area. So they'd be wise (and they are) to stick to the "Fort Knox-like" London rehearsal studio. God, i can't believe i'm still alive and well. They've been there twice, 6 weeks the

20.9 celsius here on the french atlantic coast, at 10:30 pm. I understand the difference between weather and climate. But come on, after 4 months of record heat every single day, we're still there, 20.9 C at 10:30pm, mid october? Wtf?

Very hot here in Royan too, on the Atlantic Coast, 300 kms north of Biarritz. We've got the longest period of heat i've ever experienced, and i've been living here for 35 years. Two months in a row above 30C every day. And a record 41C late august at 6pm. A very unusual hot september, 21C right now at 10pm, one rainy day and two short storms in three months. The tourists are still

Was there 3 times in the pit, didn't have any issue with the sound. The question is, is it possible to have a good sound everywhere in what is basically an indoor stadium? I'm not sure. Ask the same question about a mainstream 20000 people arena, and i'm still not sure. About the organization, night#1 sucked, big way. The guys fixed most of the problems for night#2 and #3. It wa

To do it simple, and because i'm too lazy to dig in my memories, every time they hit the stage, including the last 2 minutes before that. A massive and unbeatable shoot of adrenaline.

The top of my personnal history with the Stones. I had a dream, following the Stones on tour from town to town, and i could do it for the first time, thanks internet and long paid vacations. One month in North America from New York to Toronto, the two MSG concerts in january 2003, and again most of the summer in Europe, ending with the whole UK/Ireland Tour. Most of it with my daughter and my bes

At least, Mick had some problems with his voice and this is not a speculation. I didn't notice it before Gimme Shelter, but i was so much focused on Keith who really was outstanding that i honestly could have missed something. Fingers crossed for you guys, i hope you'll get a treat like the one we got last friday.

Last time i went back from Marseille (was in 2003 for the Licks Tour), i spent the entire travel in the bar wagon with my friends and had fun. No big deal, it's just a 3 hours and 20 minutes trip.

I don't understand why this discussion, again, about the pit, the shape, the size. French ticketing services suck, especially when it's about the map/seating charts.Nothing new under the sun. Same issue last year about Paris. Same issue every tour since 2003 (Paris Bercy Arena) when people freaked out because every ticket had a row and a seat number, but the ground was supposed to be st

London 1 & 2 Marseille I miss the good ol' time when i could follow my boys from city to city for one month. But lack of time and money, you can't always get what you want. I'm glad i will enjoy 3 more great nights with the band that changed my life for ever, and for the best. Still one month to wait, it seems that every minute looks like one day...

A few years ago, i've numerized a few vhs tapes. Each time it took me hours just to make a dvd with a simple menu. I then realized my work was useless because all my home made DVDs were available on internet in a much better quality. Anyway, i can't even imagine how much time you spent checking tons of youtube videos, putting them together, mixing them with the best soundtrack, and so

QuoteHighwire75 Sorry for my bad english (and google translate) 3rd date in fosse OR. The least good of the three, the second concert was the best for me. OMG the audience in the fosse OR ... a horror !!! grandpas and grannies who spend their time to taking disgusting videos with their smartphones or stay static. Nothing to do with Sunday's audience, younger, more stone addict. Regard

Just back home now. I’m so excited i can’t sleep. I was a bit disapointed after the first one and worried about Keith who looked so old and tired, enthousiastic after #2, but this night? Holly @#$%&, what a blast! Best one of the Paris trilogy, in a landslide.

Quotebv The U ARENA is a brand new venue. It cost Euro 360 million to build, with a capacity of 40,000 people for concerts. It opened last with, with the first Rolling Stones show. Exit out of the venue AFTER the show was blistering fast in 5-10 minutes. Still, there is one thing I don't understand: Why is there a single path entrance and exit? Everybody need to enter and exit through a n

Agree about the pit. Things were more complicated yesterday and i know we don’t have the same expectations about which spot to choose (btw, opening only one side of the pit at the beginning was not a venue policy). First show i was front row and could choose my side. Second show i was Keith side at the back of the pit along the catwalk. It was packed but pretty comfortable and i had a perfect vue

From my own experience yesterday, it seems that most of the problems were solved. The staff was helpfull, some guys even apologized for the mess of the previous concert. The entrance was very slow due to strong security check but who could complain about that? Btw, the ratp (the subway company) did an amazing job to get everybody back to Paris center, without charging us. The only guy to blame wa

I agree, worst organization ever. Each time you asked somebody you got a different story. A lot of confusion outside the venue, and a lot of confusion inside the venue. The arena has just been finished a few days ago, i assume most of the staff is new on the job. I’m ready to forgive them if they learn from yesterday and do a much better job on sunday. But when so much people are wrong on a new j

The worst part of the story is that we know it, but still act like idiots. We've been knowing it for a long time, and we still make stupid things like being connected on the ticketmaster website one hour before the start, in full panic and heart at 120 bmp, buying the first overpriced tix we can grab. Well, maybe it's just part of the fun...i use to joke about it with a good friend who

Quotebv Guns, danger and violence related to hand guns or bombs in general is really all about mathematics, really. It is not politics at all. Fact is 1% - 5% of all people are mentally unstable at one or more moments in their lives. Add dangerous weapons to all people at all times, like guns, a knife, a bomb or something. The socalled protection is virtual. It is a "felt" protection. N

Quotegrzegorz67 Excellent. I'm a native so I'll be there! For those non Scots attending, be prepared for a wild audience I was at BtB Edinburgh in 1999 and Licks Glasgow Show 1 in 2003. The Wildest Audiences in Northern Europe for sure and perhaps not far behind those in the South. Couldn't agree more. I've seen them 3 times in Glasgow, 2003x2 and 2006. Amazing audience.

Was at my office in France. A coworker got a phone call from her husband, saying that New York was "under attack", which sounded very unreal! Which country? Is it a war? We were very confused. I didn't have a full internet access at work at that time, and of course no smartphone. So i decided to get back home early, got some news in my car, was at home watching the news on TV just
