So I’ve recently enjoyed connecting by email with some of the people I run into on tour and at rehearsals. Expectations are not high to be able to hear rehearsals at NRG Stadium because of its high walls and retractable/closed roof. Not much info available about studio rehearsals except one who is usually reliable and says LA.

NRG Stadium info request for someone near by and familiar. The last few tours I have listened to and reported here about rehearsals. I would like to do the same if I can get near and hear the band rehearse at NRG the few days before the first show. Does this seem possible at NRG Stadium?

Chicago traditional blues joints for live music: Downtown, there is Buddy Guy’s Legends and Blue Chicago, both great blues nearly nightly. The north side (my neighborhood) has Kingston Mines. A bit west is my favorite hole in the wall with great music-Rosas Lounge. Also, the north side’s Green Mill is well known for live jazz and a fun spot.

I saw a Dylan show about two weeks ago, Sun Oct 8, in Chicago. He and the band sounded as good as ever. Very talented group. I’m sure if you are a Dylan fan you would have loved the show. I love some Dylan songs but he did not play any that I knew and those songs I do know such as Multitudes was played in an unrecognizable way. The venue stopped selling beer a half hour after the show started.

Good week of live music for me: Bob Dylan, U2 and Phish. The Sphere is awesome, both sound and visuals. I was afraid of sensory overload and distracting gimmicks. I found limited gimmicks. Sure some showing off the next gen technology like when the ceiling falls. But just as one inflatable brings a show to life but many would be carnivalish most displays add to bringing the music to life. L
