I was a big fan in my pre-teen years and finally got to see them in the early 1980's after their Reading Festival 'comeback'. In fact, I saw them 5 times in 18 months. Believe me, the original line up were a brilliant band live! I wish they would give us one last hurrah like Status Quo did in 2013 and 2014.

I think only Stay with Me was broadcast at the time, so unless it has been re-broadcast, the boot version may be the best you will get. Is it on YouTube?

I passed last year as there was no Glenn Frey but it was performing the full Hotel California album that sold it to me this time.

Oddly enough, I got the full show on CD today to replace my old CD-r copy. Haven't listened to it yet. From memory this is a great recording but Live at Leeds is in a league of it's own!

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl A lovely clip with Neil appearing on the Rick Mercer Report What a great clip! What a great drummer. I always thought Neil was very private with not much of a personality. How wrong I was, sorry for doubting you Neil. RIP. Definitely one of the greatest.

QuoteCaptainCorella QuoteSpud The quality of screens wasn't really up to the job prior to the VL tour,. Nonsense. I remember going to see them at Wembley long before that. There was a big screen above the stage and they started with it blank, and then between some (early) numbers Mick got it turned on and it was showing a TV channel broadcasting a football match (possible World Cup, bu

Quotegeorgie48 2002 Orpheum Theatre, Boston. Out of the blue (but in retrospect not really) Mick announced that they were going to do Parachute Woman. I was shocked, because (apart from the Stones themselves of course, and certainly Keith) only three others (including myself) know/knew why. Can you share the reason why it was played?

Brixton 19/7/95 - Shine A Light. This show was full of surprises but this was the best for me. Twickenham 24/8/03 - Star Star. A song I had given up on ever seeing played live. I was in such a daze it was half way through the next song before I recovered. Leeds 25/7/82 - Angie. Had the Hampton triple vinyl and played it to death, so I knew all the songs and the order they were played.

I was into Whitesnake 1979-1982 (ish) and the only album I have is Live In The Heart Of The City + a couple of radio broadcasts on cassette tape. I saw the Coverdale/Marsden/Moody/Murray/Lord/Paice line up twice and they were pretty good live but I gave up when Coverdale went poodle perm and spandex trousers to appeal to the US market. Fair play to him, I think he succeeded but the heavy British

Reverse Blues, a double vinyl containing Bedspring Symphony (Brussels 1973) and On Tour 1978 (Passaic, NJ) in 1980. Fantastic stuff considering you could not hear the quality before buying.

QuoteTeaAtThree Better than the last bunch of Neil albums by a longshot. Unfortunately, nothing has touched the last great records of the late 80s early 90s era Freedom, Ragged Glory, Arc/Weld, Sleeps with Angels, and even Mirror Ball. I keep waiting for the magic of those discs, but every single one after that leaves something to be desired, imho. [email protected] I love Greendale (acoustic version)

QuoteKurt HAPPY WITH KEITH AND MICK SINGING TOGETHER. Please. I have always found it strange that with the attention they pay on spectacular visuals in a stadium, a simple thing like singing in the same microphone is so simple yet visually brilliant that it is overlooked. Speaks volumes about Mick and Keith's relationship. It wouldn't have to be in Keith's set - HTW and Wil

The set list was great but the songs were played too close to the original versions (IMHO). The big downside was Matt Clifford's synthesised noises which ruined the overall sound for me. There is a great soundboard boot from Dallas 11.11.89 where the guitars are right up front which is where they should have been.
