Quotejjflash73 So, I will defend Ronnie with a new thought. I am fighting cancer as well and I have IV treatments every 21 days and I take pills everyday. Somedays you seem good and some days are foggy. Typically after an IV infusion, fatigue and a general fog can set in. I don't know if this is in fact a cause but give the cancer fighting man a positive prayer. Tom in NC Thanks for shar

There is something terribly wrong with Ronnie. That's my main impression from Amsterdam yesterday. He completely messed up his solo's on TD, CYHMK, and more. Seemed he didn't have a clue what he was doing, or what key the song was in. Got through the first half of the show relying on muscle memory alone. Keith started looking worried. During GS Keith took over fills that Ronnie wou

QuoteHairball As for 2003, if memory serves Mick had throat issues... True. I remember it was announced on the day of the show early afternoon just as I entered the railwail station to jump on the train to Amsterdam. This time the announcement was around 18:00 when me and my son were outside the stadium. They should have done that covid test a bit earlier.

My first reaction was 'this is the end of the Stones'. Now that emotions have settled I'm accepting that they will go on. Steve Jordan can do the job, but who's next? Ronnie can be replaced by Mick Taylor (or Waddy Wachtel for that matter), Keith can be replaced (as far as Mick's concerned) by Joe Satriani, and Mick can be replaced by, well, Robbie Williams. It will be li

Having been to countless Stones shows in the last 40+ years, I must say that I am dissapointed in the change of sound since the 2014 tour. It seems there's a new sound crew that must have grown up with Motorhead. Last show I attended was Dusseldorf 2014. Volume was way over the pain barrier and worst of all is the 'dynamic mixing', meaning they crank up the guitar that is on the vi

Quotevirgil NO Plexiglass with Charlie, where was the setlist posted or was it even? Set lists were taped onto the floor the old fashioned way. The backline was stripped down to two combo amps each for Keith and Ronnie. The complete backline, including Charlie's drumkit would fit into the back of VW-van! Gone are the Ampeg and Boogie days. I guess the volume on stage was a lot less th

That's what my parents said when they saw me watching the JJF clip in 68. I'll ask my two sons (10 and 14) what to think of it...

Quotearthritis Is there any truth to the rumor that they're adding a second drum kit on this tour for phil collins to play alongside charlie? Wrong. There will be three drum kits, Carmine Appice will be there as well.

This was the song that got me hooked when I heard it the first time in 1966 as an 8 year old on Radio veronica... Been a Stones fan ever since. They should do it live, maybe on the 60th anniverary tour?

QuoteGazza £400 a ticket 20 songs if youre lucky That 2-song piss break will cost you £40. Thats a very expensive couple of pints! My calculation is as follows: 400 for 2 hours is 200 per hour. That's the same my lawyer charged me to get custody of the kids. That was a lot more hours and it worked. So it's a bargain.

Quotetomzen Quoteaustrianstones what`s about an additional gig on nov.27th ? maybe today, if public sale goes well? I think it's in the cards. First two shows being a sell out and the arena seems to be available for the 27th. I don't think they can sell another 20.000 for these prices. Imagine how 40.000 buyers would feel if they drop prices to fill another night...

Quotesjs12 Bring back postal applications! In the old days (1976) I got up early in the morning, cycled 10 miles to the nearest presale point, queued up for an hour and finally got tickets for the show on my 18th birthday. Price was 25 Dutch guilders, say $12. Those were the days.

QuotePromoman Went to see the Pretty THings in Apeldoorn last night. It was great. Dick Taylor surely still can play. That was a great gig indeed! The new, young rhythm section really kicks the band in great shape. They did everything from early R&B, Bo Diddley, country blues (with a reference to Keith...), SF Sorrow stuff, and some from the latest 2007 cd. Hey Promoman, heb je nog me
