stonesmuziekfan - sorry it has taken me a while to get back into Stones stuff...but I have redone some of the shows as some of those Stones things were early and I feel I have made some improvements. I will upload and add to the list as I sort out what I will put up... The only caveat is that I have saved them as single files... 1967-04-02 Vienna - Better sounding overall - but missing

I don't know what happened, I responded to your message and it seemed to have disappeared? Anyway, in short, more than happy to help fix you up with lossless etc, I will just be quite busy for next week or two, but after that plenty of time. I mean if you want stuff outside of the Stones - like Jimi - I mean I have done every Hendrix show. Some several times over. I have a blog which I h

I can't say that I would care much either, but anyway, I made these a while ago - At the moment it has seemed to have passed the algorithm... The first three UK albums are recorded really crudely and have inherent distortion etc in the masters...so I was playing around with them one day...created some fake "stereo" mixes - unless the album had a true stereo mix I included it inste

In response to DPH - I don't have the recent official Stones in the Park rerelease - I assumed it used the same sound as the old version...but apparently it all Stereo - although missing tracks. Just checked if it is in Stereo on DAC 183 - it is the audience and WLIR broadcast - mono. Unless there was another release? Sections of mine are in mono but mostly stereo and if not - merged.

QuoteHEILOOBAAS Best live versions of JJF, MR and Sympathy, IMHO. Really? OK...the drummers are a bit out of sync at the beginning of Sympathy - but they pull it together by the time Keith comes in. I have always thought the setlist was really cool, which isn't really replicated again.

Thanks Folks - hope it makes the grade. Wish we had a complete stereo soundboard of this show. Often out of tune but has its charms.

Hey Folks This is an update of a previous restoration from a few years ago. I fixed a few missing pieces here and there, to make as complete and in the best sound quality possible. Anyway - just thought I'd post the link. 1969-07-05 The Rolling Stones, Hyde Park, London Sources: SODD 015, VGP 296, Living Legend Records , DVD Video 01. Intro/Adonais - added Sam Cutler i

QuoteHis Majesty Quoteaxl79 QuoteDandelionPowderman Not Brian on piano. According to Martin Elliot's Book Ruby Tuesday was recorded between 16 nov - 6 Dec 1966 at Olympic Sound Studios. "The piano accompaniment by Brian Jones and keyboards by Jack Nitzsche...." "The song was written almost exclusively by Keith and Brian and is said to be about a well-known groupie..&q

QuoteJordyLicks96 Quotedcba QuoteHis Majesty QuoteJordyLicks96 Surely Ruby Tuesday, Stray Cat Blues and Sympathy are not from 1969. These all sound like early versions from their corresponding album sessions. They have the spring 1969 sound and feel. The playing, singing and guitars, piano and drum sounds all fit. Really? To me "Stray Cat Blues" does have an "early 1968" f

QuoteNikkei "Sounds a lot like No Expectations" or "oh my" isn't really putting forward an argument. I could say the intro sounds like Sitting on a Fence. I will say that Charlies drumming sounds a lot like what he would do before he came up with the sharp rolls he would do on the finished take. Why would he shape the rhythm of the song like that and then abandon it for o

I posted this over on the trade page...but perhaps here is more appropriate... Having only listened to that version of Ruby Tuesday a couple of times - why can't it be a 1966 outtake? I have read here that some said, "well it is Nicky Hopkins" so it can't be 1966... Is it Nicky Hopkins? Could be - but it is not definitive...Why can't it be Jack Nitzsche? I have been l

Quotekeefriff99 Quotefunkydrummer Oh yeah - and I am not a fussy audiophile type - but Blue and Lonesome CD was unlistenable. It was so compressed it gave me a headache listening to it and I have never listened to the whole thing to this day. While mastering is not the producers job - Was has some responsibility for how brickwalled that mess is. I was just listening to B&L tracks yesterday...

Quotedcba Quotefunkydrummer Totally concur with the Don Was criticisms. He produced one of Dylan's worst Under the Red Sky... Well to be fair Dylan sabotaged his own album with passion. He forced Was to record as many as 5 or 6 songs in one single day. With that frantic pace there's not much room for "producing". And Dylan also sabotaged the trick Was used successfully

I was hoping that it was without the voiceovers...I guess the raw tapes will never see the light of day? Sad.

Totally concur with the Don Was criticisms. In fact when I heard he was on board to do Voodoo Lounge, I was thinking "oh no"! He produced one of Dylan's worst Under the Red Sky... I have had the VL discussion here and other places before. I hate Voodoo Lounge. "Fake Stones" - supported by the yes man. At the time the Don Was comments about it being Exile-like etc were

Midnrambler Thank you so much! I really appreciate you doing this - and so quickly too! I will finish off my little project and of course will upload to the good folks of IORR. I do think my project will have some value - as I am not sure that the whole thing has been assembled with correct key and speed as complete in one place...so my thanks again! FD

I'd actually love to know more on how the Satanic Tapes got out - and also why Citadel seems to have been circulated through lower quality dubs... I wonder if the infamous "throwout" at Olympic - back in the 80s, I think it was - was responsible?
