This film is really cool.Superb musical performances and lots of funny stuff. And Allen Ginsberg rocks.I never viewed Renaldo and Clara so I cant compare it.A fine addition to the works of Bob Dylan.

Last night was the premiere of the Stones 1964 Chess Studio photo exhibit and I was really impressed. These are mostly close up shots of the band working and relaxing in the studio. There are probably 50 black and white snapshots on display including pictures of Ron Malo Chess recording engineer Andrew Oldham and Ian Stewart on the keys.If you are a fan of early Stones youre going to dig it.Amazing

Last night The Who played the Chicago area show. The weather was awful for an outdoor show.Very windy and chilly. The show itself was pretty enjoyable with the orchestra adding a nice element to the songs from Quadrophenia and Tommy. The opening band ReignWolf was heavy heavy music. They got a great bass drum sound. My favorite tunes from The Who were The Rock ...Drowned.....Join Together....Baba O...

I agree with you nonfilter about Keiths slide-work on Let It Bleed album and wonder how he got that tone and echo effect on his guitars. Also what kind of guitars he used. This sound is kinda unique to the Stones recorded music

The Hall of Fame is completely meaningless.Mott The Hoople was a totally honest example of quality Rock n Roll. If they have cult-band status that's ok with me

I saw them last night at the Chicago Theatre. It was pretty cool hearing those tunes played live.Probably very close to the setlist they had in 1974.Three original guys and five additional musicians.Aerial Bender and Morgan Fisher were in fine form both of them kinda hamming it up onstage.Very entertaining lads.Ian Hunter broke out the old Iron Cross guitar for Walkin With A Mountain which was ja

I will be going to see Mott next week in Chicago.Im going cause I dug that band back in the early 70s Saw them a few times back then. The main songwriter of that band was Hunter......and theres lots of good rockers he wrote that he doesn't perform with Rant.So Im loookin forward to this maybe for nostalgic reasons I don't know.

I think the blues will survive at least in Chicago. There is still a healthy interest in blues here. It continues to evolve. Memphis too. The history of blues is an interesting story to tell. Blues is the cornerstone of this music we dig. It goes on......
