QuoteLongBeachArena72 QuoteJackHampshire Taylor is not on the tour because he was "difficult" last time. That's over and done with. He quit! Has his being "difficult" been established anywhere reputable as a reason for his not being on the Zip Code tour? No, it hasn't. And it's utter nonsense anyway.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Good post, latebloomer. You really should post in this thread more often What Mick sees is that he didn't want to get dependent on Taylor, so much that it would have been a question of hhim re-joining the band. Nothing wrong with re-joining, as far as I'm concerned, but I really understand that the band wouldn't wanna end up in that situation. They

QuoteLuxuryStones Well Kleer, one of his representatives is giving Mick a compliment after a series of natural harmonics, at 0:15: "Great shot". I didn't know Taylor played basketball on stage.

Naturalust: he clarified to Rolling Stone Mgz (via a representative) that he is not sick and that he was simply not invited to participate in the upcoming tour. Apart from that, he does not feel there is much news to report until he either has a gig / short tour, a recorded work or perhaps a book to promote. He is looking into new musical collaborations.

QuoteStoneburst I hope he will, and it would be excellent if he did. However, he probably did reasonably well financially out of the last few years with the Stones, so he might not feel he needs to for the time being. Also, I'm not sure what his band situation is at the moment: I think he was having some issues with Jeff Allen. That said, no doubt there's a tonne of musicians who'd

QuoteLuxuryStones I'm not. We have discussed this extensively in private conversations, MT's smoking habits included. Keep it straight please. You're the one that is not playing with a straight bat by pretending to be an insider. You should cut it out and stop insinuating you have details on MT's health. You don't know him.

QuoteNaturalust QuoteChacal QuoteNaturalust Geez, bad news indeed. Puts everything in perspective, for MT and the rest of the Stones...we're lucky to have them all in 2015. Hope above all that MT heals well but of course would still love to see him play a few shows this tour. peace What is bad news ? What do you mean 'heals well' ? Ok I knew I shouldn't have res

QuoteLuxuryStones QuoteChacal QuoteLuxuryStones He had serious lung issues a couple of years ago already, was hospitalised for that. Smoking cigarettes doesn't make it any better. So the doctor could be right this time. I hope Taylor finally kicks his nasty habit. Which doctor ? You, perhaps? Your suggestive comment is adding to speculation on this board that Taylor has some kind of ai

QuoteDreamer QuoteChacal Naturalust: it would be good if you could stop the baseless speculation about Taylor's health and sobriety. Thank you. Baseless speculation is innocent compared to giving inside information one day and true lies another day and never tell where the info is coming from. Don't just shoot from the hip like Butch Cassidy, kid. You spread intel with dubious inten

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotegotdablouse QuoteDandelionPowderman Why is it so unlikely that someone told Keith or let him believe that Taylor was sick? I don't understand the hate here Well upon hearing the news Keith could have done a few things, like called Taylor to inquire about his health and offer some support, or called Ronnie to find out if he knew anything about this or had notic

QuoteDandelionPowderman He also lives in another country, uses a fax (or letters) to communicate and probably isn't as hands on as Mick... A lot of allowances being made for Keith not bothering to use a fax or a phone (or a messenger pigeon or any other means of communication that is available to him) before saying something to the press that is untrue.

Quotekleermaker Jagger's suggestive stutttering was so clever, it was certainly thought about before the interview, because that question was so predictabe. Very clever to stutter this way and feed all the suppositions about MT not being healthy or not insurable and that sort of nonsense. But I'm at least as clever not to buy this. Congratulations on figuring that out and my complimen

Quotegotdablouse Seems odd that it could be a blocking point, you'd think UMG would be happy to have one of the original members at the time of SF be around for some promo. But there has to be a third party involved, AEG/Insurers/Record Company...That wouldn't explain Mick's stuttering "he's got...", was he going to say "he's got other commitments" and

QuoteDoomandGloom A step or two perhaps but Keith has fallen back miles. He is still lovely and lovable but this is a guitar band and I've seen no sign after witnessing his club tour with Ron that Taylor is not still a solid guitar player. The Stones might have been gracious but they also set him up to fail.. On stage he begged for more monitor, he was highly outgunned by Keith and Ron'

QuoteTonyMo I've always liked and admired Mick Taylor's guitar playing. Not that he gives a crap, but Mick (if you're reading this...and I seriously doubt you are...but just in case), my apologies for using you to poke the bear. Apologies not accepted since you left all your offensive and unfunny posts up. It seems a bad time to pick on Taylor, since he hasn't been terribly

QuoteNaturalust Quote71Tele Coming out of self-imposed exile for a second: hearing Mick Jagger babble about Taylor - a former band member - not being included and then wax excitedly about the "guests" he was looking forward to having on the tour made me physically sick. Welcome back Tele, have a seat, what can I get ya to drink? Perhaps some 43 year old scotch, distilled the very hour

QuoteTonyMo Funnily enough, I think the Stones might encounter some problems explaining why they would want to go backwards at this point in time. The dexterity of the guitarists is going backwards with Taylor's elimination.

Quotegotdablouse +10 with the comments about Taylor bringing a bit of "adventure" to the show for 2+ years, they all enjoyed it, Jagger included, why he "limited" it is anyone's guess, now he's canned it. Maybe it was too painful to relive his youth? Most people would be happy with that but one thing we keep forgetting (his fault!) is that the guy is nearly 72...at t

QuoteNaturalust QuoteMrThompsonWooft How many more times can anyone be thrilled at hearing him play Midnight Rambler? The first time was great but.......... At least he changes it up with some improvisation...If you're thrilled at hearing JJF, Brown Sugar and HTW for the 1000th time played pretty much the same way, hearing Midnight Rambler with Taylor a few times more should really excite

Quotealimente Same here, Kleerie. "If there's a will, there's a way". Only health issues could prevent MT from participating if indeed he and the band agreed to do it. Then again, it's also possible that both parties were willing to do it initially, but could not reach an agreement concerning the exact terms (amount of money, number of songs to play each night etc.). QuoteDreamer Well my observation is that it was easy to see all the RS were always positive and constructive about MT and at the same time it was hard to see MT being happy. How many people other than Sam did he tell he was happy? And take it from this source: the RS didn't turn MT down...a lawyer calling MT has got nothing to do with it. That's just necessary legal stuff a company

I have completely lost interest in this excuse for a band. It's just not about the music anymore. They can carry on with their completely predictable mass entertainment formula, but I will not buy a ticket ever again. To honour their own legacy - not to mention a guitarist who has been vital to their best records and tours, which helped them achieve long term success as a band (while

Quote71Tele Well, respectfully, I am angry about it, because it's stupid and petty and musically cowardly. It is worth getting angry about because having Taylor along for a Sticky Fingers celebration is just about the only thing that could make it interesting. And at this stage of their career, who cares what the problems were? Maybe they haven't reached Mike Love/Beach Boys level, but
