Agreed re the sound. I was on pitch GA to the left. I was trying to enjoy the show but really disappointed and hoping the sound would sort itself and hey presto it did ! The volume definitely increased but it was clear as day and the guitars were ripping through. Ended up as being my favourite Stones show despite a not great view from GA.

Quotebv Echo and the Bunnymen are supporting The Rolling Stones at Liverpool stadium show (ContactMusic.com) Poorly researched article. Bunnymen line up is years out of date.

The Bunnymen are brilliant in a Theatre/Club setting. I have my doubts about how they'll do in a stadium environment in daylight rather than the dark with dry ice swirling. Anyway, still will knock spots off some other LPL acts like Lightening Seeds / Cast / Zutons / The Coral.

QuoteNikkei Legendary Liverpool band Echo and the Bunnymen Brilliant news, saw them in Leeds a month ago, superb, although Mac was his usual incoherent (happy) drunk self between songs.

Quoterayrad QuoteBig Al Quoterayrad QuoteNikkei Legendary Liverpool band Echo and the Bunnymen absolutely delighted with that, i have to say Yes, great choice! Here's hoping London gets an equally credible 'indie' act from yesteryear! the charlatans again would be great what with ronnie being mates with them Tim Burgess supported The Stones at MEN arena Sept 2003.

Do bands of any success actually formally split these days? The last i recall was REM. The Stones may decide to not tour for the foreseeable, but splitting/retiring will not happen.

Good find, I've ordered it. I remember getting Sweet Summer Sun box set for a great price from Amazon.it and they honoured it.

St James park was a real dump back then. H&S today would condemn it in an instant ! I'd love to have seen them at Roundhay park to compare it to some of the later gigs like Simple Minds. U2, Wacko Jacko and Madonna. At least Mick gave a shout out to the local Towns and Cities - Huuuuddersfield !

It's all up there on Apple Music. A veritable treasure trove. Nice biogs too. AWP was my fave TV show EVER ! What a great bunch of characters, each one a star in their own right. I remember standing shoulder to shoulder with Tim Healy at Cheltenham races for about 20 minutes, thinking, this fella looks like Tim, but it cant possibly be him, but it was !

Quite staggered by this, outwardly on top of the world, Keith had only literally competed in his local 5k Parkrun, clocking a PB on the Saturday morning. Goodness knows what he was going through inside.

Yes you can. Singha and Heineken are the beers sold at Football matches, I don't see any reason it will change tonight.

QuotesamMuc Quoteodean73 For some reason, it looks smaller than coventry. lol Bad Angle. But in general it' s not bigger. Unless it' s an athelics field like the London stadium for example they are all 105x68m + some meters around. Old Trafford is an old Stadium modernised. The stands are actually very close to the pitch compared to many of the new builds who have several metres g

'Streets' is a pivotal moment of any U2 gig, that's some big boots to fill with its omission. I can take or leave the other JT classics, but the whole crowd, die hards or casual fans go mental for it.

QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa No superstars. No money. No fancy stadium. No excuses. Way to GÓ, Leicester FC. It's all relative, but no money? - come on !! Their owners are worth squillions!! The stadium is I really good new build, albeit just around 30,000 capacity. In terms of what they have currently spent versus the big boys, yes, it's pretty meagre, but in real terms they have s

Quotepepganzo Duff has his project the loaded. He just replaced Tommy for some concerts in Argentina. I think that velvet revolver was a fantastic band better than the new gnr. The gnr had all the potentials to be one of the best band of all time. But they were just a good band with a good number of songs and with a good album. Duff is actually in a band called Walking Papers who have been tour

Quotetheanchorman Can't stand them. Bono is nauseating and I just can't get into a band that doesn't have a legitimate rock or blues bases guitar player. The edge is just horrible. If there's anyone out there that DOESN'T deserve a nickname its him The Edge also needs to realise that we know he's bald. He's fooling no-one with that stupid hat. And he dresses

Seen them in 87 / 01 / 05 / 09. 2001 Elevation arena tour knocked spots off the rest. Fabulous atmosphere and the band were on great form. They were still hungry in 87 but they refused to use screens saying "its all about the music", hence the stadium shows were a little difficult. How times changed what with their stage shows... 05 and 09 were not their best tours by a long shot.

QuoteMrThompsonWooft Quoteduke richardson QuoteMrThompsonWooft It is a marriage of convenience. And the matey gestures of affection are good for business. They convince the paying audience that they are a loveable gang of old rogues who enjoy each others company. Away from the public I suspect it's another matter entirely. why is that? they don't see each other much when not on
