Lukester I never find beer a laughing matter. It is to be treated with the utmost of respect, veneration and reverence. It is then to be appreciated like a spring morning that in turn leads to it needing to be destroyed by stomach lining and expelled like diet coke!.....hence respectfully making more room for the aforementioned nectar of the Gods. I hope you come across Capt Jack's father

I know he's performed it as his own since the solo days but "Connection" is not a Keith vox song on Buttons. He simply sings an accompanying harmony.Jagger sings the main melody. "Something happened.." and MM is just him singing a repetative part in each song - again the main vocalist is Mick. RRR was a solo gig not the Stones and outtakes don't count. CDA c

Aslecs we get your point. Your posts are becoming more dull to me than Beatles' music is to you. And there is no reason to apologize for a point of view. No-one is bothered by the fact you don't like them. Chow down on a chloroform sandwich dude and have a real ZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Lukester and Textmonkey you are clearly people with an mighty fine tastes that have clarity of the mind and ears and if you were anywhere nearby Downunder I would be compelled to buy the both of you lots of beer. :0) Speaking of the Let It Be album. Isn't it incredible how artists are compared to their own highest standards? LIB was for the most part panned by critics and yet it boasts &q

Why? They've outsold everyone from Mozart to U2 - and by a fuking long, long shot. Their music is more widely known than anyone else's. Once all the promotion and pomp dies down the fact is that their music is loved across the world and generations - far more than anyone else's. It sells in abundance even 38 years after their demise. There's a reason for it - they wrote

Geez, I remember all the hubub with the "it was 20 years ago today" bizo in 87 whan it was released on cd for the first time. Now it's 20 years on. Man life zips by. I agree with your points for the most part Mathijs but disagree with your opinion of them live. As chance would have it I've been crancking Please Please Me and With The Beatles in the car going home from wo

I think the moe really suits him. Can't ever remember seeing him with facial hair before - and I don't mean simply in need of a shave. The gut would go if he addressed his badly beaten liver - but that ain't ever gonna happen.

Anyone can be (and let's face it all of us for the most part are) boring. I completely disagree with the claptrap mentioned earlier in this thread re Jagger's writing also. But's it's all just opinion I guess. Who could be bothered being around someone that's interesting all the time? Hell some of life's funniest moments come from boredom and boring moments.

"I don't believe all Aussies are without soul and without appreciation of mood." Happy to read that. There are 20 million of us you know. I'm not bored but their dexterity, genius or ingenious, musical competence or anything bar one really - the material. It may have been adventurous, even cutting edge - I agree their music does have mood/s. But there are bad moods as we

Dunno what the big deal is about the song writing credits the way they read. Their first album Please Please Me reads all original Beatles track as McCartney-Lennon. So what if he wanted to change it from the now famous Lennon-McCartney? He's had it reading JL's name first for 40+ years and until a few years ago never said "boo" about it. It must tick him off a little that

I care little dear Sir for what SD threads have to say concerning me or anything else they may attempt to convey to those that read the aforementioned threads. Ricky don't los....ZZZzzzzZzZZzzzzz....

I wish Steely Dan threads would disappear around here. Their music is a whole bunch of cock gobble that then vomits healthy chunks of boredom.

"LOL: I had the silly poster hanging in my bedroom for years ..." Me too!! But I was 14 when I bought ER in 1982 and can be forgiven. :0) Yeah Liddas, Meta has a really bad wrap. A Rolling Stone review book on albums gave it a square. The ratings were 5 star (brilliant, masterpiece etc)....to 1 star - which of course is regarded a bad album. A square was described as (if I rec

It's a stoning offense down here my dear friend Chelsea to misspell Vegemite. I have some pull with the federal government however and will see to it that the charge is dropped to a misdemeanor.... Nah mate, don't expect to see them here anymore. Should they tour the U.S in 2009/10 I'll bust my buns to get there as like so many here I can't stop loving them. Last year I

ER cover for me is like most Stones covers imo - cheap and uninteresting. Flashpoint has to be the worst. My faves are (cover wise that is) LYL, TY SF, IORR and I rather like Stripped - but I've been slammed for those opinions here in the past. Just different tastes I guess. Oh, I like Beggars as well - the RSVP one not the dunny wall version. I agree re the comparisons as well. But he

That's Ok Chelsea, the power of the almighy Australian fart will prevail! They can make a Camel wince you know. Actually speaking of camels, I'd rather lick the fur from the tooth of one than see The Twirp That Formerly Had Touch With Reality. :0)

I agree in general Liddas. LMG, Dance and SSC are my faves on the album. IG could have really gone somewhere had it not outstayed its welcome (5ish minutes or so??) - and it's apauling production. Those trumpets....huh? How did they fit in? And Mick's vox become weaker and more ridiculous the further the song goes. Hope some band latches onto this 'should be' gem and rework

Yeah too right. And Aussies don't like poncey boys playing bubble gum music. He'd last about as long as a snowflake in the desert before some little digger pinned him down and farted on his precious hairspray ridden hair. )

Ahh man who gives a rats re this site? This is a Stones/music site. There's a forthcoming federal election in Australia - and it bares no relevance to this site so hence I wouldn't bother to post "who won" here. There are plenty of political forums on the net. Go yap about it there. The winner of the French election is pretty well being broadcast over most if not all W

The Stones will stop BV Miladio. Just as the sun will go nova and suck the moon and the third rock along wih it in 5 or so billion years. Assuming the Stones are still touring then, it's a safe bet they'll be caught up in the whole mess and left for dead. Well maybe not Keith, but the others are a shoe in to croak.....

Never known a band to be on the lookout for such mind numbingly boring material and then once found have the audacity to record and release it. They're on their way to Oz for the first time. Suppose they forgot why nobody wanted them here in the first place. Perhaps I should remind them that they suck. Hard.

73 by a long shot for me. He's still flat in alot of spots in 69 and his singing is not as confident, although I still love anything I hear from that tour. I also do not agree that Jagger was a parody of himself in 1973. He was the ultimate rock star performing and singing better than anyone and singing some of the greatest songs ever written. Oh yeah that he either wrote or co wrot
