Completely off topic in terms of USA / Canadian tour but interesting rumour I’ve heard nevertheless. In Manchester UK there is a new arena opening in April, it’s backed by Manchester City’s owners from the Middle East. It also has a number of significant minority investors such as Harry Styles. There has been a play to try and get the Stones (Same source tipped me off they may be playing Anf

It’s still there but it’s much more subtle. It’s 2023 not 1963, even if there wasn’t that influence you could forgive them for evolving and adapting. A band that stands still effectively goes backwards!

A really good album that far exceeds what I expected, there’s something for everyone on it. The album could easily have been a collection of ‘safe’ songs, this isn’t. The band has evolved once again and moved out of their comfort zone. Instead of picking holes in every intricate detail let’s enjoy the music.

It’s a grower First few listens it was meh but I’ve got that riff in my head big time now. It’s brash, the drums are kicking and Keith’s solo has attitude. Love it

I guess we won’t hear much now until after Christmas. If we are lucky we’ll get either a few Europe or US dates next year, anything beyond that is a bonus. The days of extensive multi continent tours are over. I do think the band would want to tour Asia / Australasia and / or South America but the logistics may not be in their favour given their age and post covid touring requirements / ins

The key thing to point out right now is they’re pushing 80. They need a few months to recharge the batteries and take stock. As long as they can still play though I expect they’ll tour similarly to what they are now 12-15 dates over a couple of month periods then a break . Time isn’t on their side and it’s clear they realise that and want to enjoy it as much as they can. I get the sense t

We’ve had 60 years of this type of thing. As they both hit the home straight can we not just appreciate them and be thankful they’re still rocking on

A completely different set from his first headline appearance all those years ago, equally brilliant but probably even more moving. Couldn’t help but feel a little sad last night watching him. Still hitting it out the park but just like The Stones you know we’re on the home straight. They’re the modern day Beethoven, Mozart. Cherish every gig they play, take joy in the moment and be grateful

Interesting snippet from McCartneys tour As shown here , Covid tests are required on entry to arenas / stadiums. This is down to insurance purposes and a procedure I assume is how Micks was picked up.

Gutted for all involved, especially those who have paid to travel significant distances. Touring has changed big time now especially for larger acts. I know how stringent checks are. The big insurers request mini bio bubbles at venues, regular covid testing day of or before etc. One act wasn’t allowed to play a warm up gig at a venue because it was too small and was risk assessed as a higher c

Mick in Liverpool lf you look to the right of Cillas statue that’s the original Cavern entrance, with the current entrance standing just 20-30 yards away. Oh to be 20 years ago when they’d do a club show as well as a stadium show..

Start walking towards town, you can always jump on one of the normal busses that service the area if you see one coming on the way. Difference between shuttle and standard busses won’t be a great deal of time given the traffic anyway!

In Manchester during No Filter tour I lost my original Email. Had everything else including several pieces of ID. They had an envelope with my name on it but switched them round last min when I couldn’t provide the Email. Ended up in nosebleeds with a friend. My brother went up a few mins later with his Mrs and scored pits. I’m certain he got mine . My own fault - still not forgiven him ha ha!

If the weather is good, right above the ferry terminal building at the Pier Head there’s a nice Asian restaurant that has the best outdoor terrace view in the city. Matou it’s called. Even if it’s raining I’d recommended as the indoor seating area overlooks the Mersey. The foods also nice too!
