The story of Mick, his bucket and me... I was at Candlestick Park in SF in 1981. Right up front with my body against the barrier wall (no one in front of me), taking pics with my 35mm camera w/ 70-210mm lens. Big camera, easy to see, and, from what I could tell, I was the only one in my area with such a camera. Along comes Mick with his bucket of water. I’m looking thru the lens and see he’s g

Thanks for all the responses! I've got a good plan now - arrive at 3, make my way to the rail on Keith's side, grab hold & don't let go (well, maybe let go w/ 1 hand to take pics). I have $85s for June 14, but Pit on June 12 will likely be my last opportunity to be in close proximity, and I'm beyond excited after reading about all the pit experiences posted here. I've

QuoteStoneswolf camera (Fuji W3 3d camera) was just in front of my head. I also did not use zoom as I also took some video shoots that would have ended very shake when using zoom. Damm, Jagger was just 1m away, no need to zoom! Good to know - thanks providing for the details. Now I know I needn't worry much about zoom capabilities if i decide to rent or buy a better camera for the show. BT

Quotedrbryant At stadium shows, front row usually has a compromised view of the rear of the stage. However, on this tour, the Stones are using a typical arena stage, slightly elevated, but no problem seeing most of the rear of the stage. The one exception might be dead center, where the stage juts out slightly. Otherwise, the view should be fine. I was second row, but it was equal to the rail

Big thanks everyone for all the great info/advice. Very helpful! It's Pit for me as first choice. QuoteStoneswolf see my pictures taken from the PIT front row middle in this thread: Great shots, Stoneswolf - I think I can even see Jagger's fillings in one of them! Were you shooting w/ your arms over your head? Also, what type of camera & what level zoom did you use? I wasn

I’m wondering what the view is like from the pit against the front rail. From pics I’ve seen, the stage looks well above everyone’s heads. For those who’ve been in this super-close-up position, how much of the stage can you actually see? Can you see Charlie in the back? Can you see Keith when he’s hanging back near Charlie? Most importantly, can you see Chuck? (kidding…) Is it an “up the nose” vi

Quotestonehearted (Philip Townsend) These are FANTASTIC, stonehearted! I'd not seen most of them before. Thanks so much for posting them. Is it just me or does Charlie look sort of Jimmy Fallonesque in this shot?

Quotebv It is a lottery. They spread the $85 tickets evenly out. There are few pit tickets - may be 100 or so out of 1,000 or 1,500 of the $85 people are lucky, which means one out of ten will get pit. If the pit has a capacity of 400, and 100 got in w/ $85's, that means 25% of the pit population consisted of folks who paid $85 - is this really true? If so, that's amazing! I had assum

Question for eddiefm: Did your friends behind you in line who got the good seats get them from the same window where you got yours? Just asking because some are theorizing that the window where people got their tix played a role in how good/bad seat location turned out to be. BTW, thanks for your posting your experiences.

Quotedennisdster The lottery - got in line at 6, entered venue at 7:35. Nosebleeds in 305; buddy got 105, and three songs into the show, the two seats next to him were empty. We moved, security very lax, enjoyed $600 seats for the duration. I noticed after the show that the order number on our tickets was different from our order numbers given on our order confirmation; my friend noticed the s

I recall reading on either this board or shidoobee that MT left rehearsals early recently because he wasn't feeling well. I wonder if that might be the reason he did only 1 song. If not, I think the Stones blundered big-time. Surely they must be aware of how beloved MT is and how many were hoping for more than 1 song (and Keith's Fallon interview only stoked the fire and made people hop
