If they tour one last time I would really like to see MT back and fully rehearsed and musically incorporated in the band. It would be four living Sones on one stage. It really is late in life not to put the quality of their live music first. How many times Sadly old rockers are passing and it seems time waits for no one.

What an amazingly inspirational life. From picking cotton to picking diamonds. She was absolutely electric on a stage. That incredible voice, red lips, combined with the mad dancing in 5inch spike heels was her trademark.I wish she stayed in and toured more in the US but many black artists did prefer Europe to the US. Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, James Baldwin. They did not find the prejudice th

QuoteBowieStone … + The Delfonics! He blew my mind many times. Rest in power. He put Philly music to the b world. Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass TSOP thebsoundn9f Philadelphia. Also collaborations with Salsoul Orchestra. I think Davis Bowie recorded Young Americans at their studios with Luther Vandross producing wanting to get that silky smooth Philly soul sound. He was a legend.

Wow. I am a little confused. This is thread created by the owner for Mick Taylor chat. There are fans that really enjoy his playing.and discussing his music Unfortunately many posters come to this thread.to negatively comment on his playing. I was lucky enough to see and hear MT when he was in the band. He was a Rolling Stone. I.saw them in 1969 and 1972. The band.was amazing. They played like t

I saw The Faces decades ago in Philly. I believe RW was great in The Faces. He was his own man and not left to try to play what MT created. He seemed more creative. He was writing songs and creating his own solos.I often wonder how far they would have gone if Rod Stewart didn't go solo and treated The Faces like his touring band and session musicians.Howeve RW joining.the Stones made the St

This shows his playing was still incredible at his last public performance. The band applauded him and the audience was knocked out. I don't think he has had a public performance since. If he had been rehearsed and played entire shows doing the 50th annie we would still be talking about it today.

All this chat about his diminished playing. I believe his last live performance was White Room. A tribute to Cream? Judging from that his playing was impressive. We all know Time waits for no kne but mo one on here has heard him play since then. I could.be wrong.Has anyone heard him playing?

Gimme Shelter reflects the turmoil in the world today, even more so then 1969. Her voice really is perfect when she belted out rape murder.its like she was a witness to sometimes horrific and screaming it out.Maybe Mick and Keith can intervene to get her gig back. Her Dad is the rap singer Nelly. Maybe he can help. I enjoyed her interpretation as it was different snd conveyed danger. I still pre

I just watched a movie about her life. T"hey say Im different". She was years ahead of her time and that was the issue. She did not conform to what a black female singer should have been. A cross between rock and funk. She was highly sexual for the time and no one knew how to market her. She refused to compromise her music and simply disappeared after 3 or 4 albums. I saw her in Philly

I have often wished someone would produce a few shows in a few choice cities and really hype the shows. Ask Lisa Fischer to do vocals. There are many Stones fans that would enjoy hearing his guitar magic with the fierce vocals of Lisa Fischer. He did this with Carla Olsen that really isn't a strong singer.I heard Lisa do Gimme Shelter with Band 2 and the audience went went wild.I wonder how

I am simply a fan. Been one since 1969 and saw them live in Philly when Taylor was in rhe band..It was amazing. I wish fans that have never seen that version of the band could have. They were absolutely amazing. No bells, no whistles, no video screens or light shows. Just the music amd the music mattered. Taylor and Richards were incredible. At the tome no other band could vomw close. Yes, I hope

QuoteTheflyingDutchman Forget it. The musical chemistry between Taylor and the Stones had gone in 2014 already. Hmm.. The audience response to his playing would mot agree but he was relegated to 2 songs. I have comments that Keith wanted him to return. Keith gave him the solo on Satisfaction in San Jose and was great. After that he played acoustic on Satisfaction. Lol. .

If Mick Taylor could be convinced to be a part of the band for a 60th anniversary would be so right. To have 4 living Rolling Stones on the same stage making music again would be amazing. Having MT play only on the songs he originally made great and not just one song.I would rather hear and see an original Stone and not a flurry of guests. Bill said he would mever fly again and I doubt Mick or Ke

This should not be a competition about whose better. Sasha is excellent and does a great job. They are two different singers singing the same song. Lisa Fischer was with the Stones for over 2 decades and has said the Stones were family. Lisa has a voice with 5 octaves and tied for a Grammy with Patti Labelle. She.samg back uo for Luther Vamdross until he passed. Sasha had big shoes to fill and

Who really cares about his hats or thr colors? The Keith Hat police? His playing is great and his is on tour again. Keith and Mick are interacting on stage again and seem close. Let's talk about that! Maybe his head simply gets cold.

After reading so many comments about SJ - not the same, magic is gone etc. It will never be the same. Yes Charlie's magic is gone and it will never be the same again. This is the Rolling Stones with a touring drummer that is damn good in the band. MJ and KR obviously approve and like it. He is not a member or trying to take CW's place in our hearts. Enjoy the remaining Stones while they

I have been a Stones fan since I first saw them in Philadelphia in 1969 when MT first joined. Mick and Keith are showing the affection they have for each other that I have not seen in decades. I imagine the loss of CW has made them realize how much they actually love each other and tje value of life.It is getting shorter with each show.It is really wonderful to watch them interacting together on

We forget there are still 2 more living Rolling Stones. 60th anniversary shows or tour with 5 Rolling Stones would be a great farewell.

QuoteThe Sicilian QuoteRokyfan QuotePhillyFAN I have read Brown Sugar was written when MJ was much younger. An ode to slavery and beating black women and basically forcing them to get down on your knees for oral sex was never okay. MJ's first child is black woman. Great music and beat tho but the lyrics are foul.I wonder the reception if a black man sang a song about beating and forcing

Quotematxil Quotetatters QuoteNikkei I wouldn't overdramatize the lack of Brown Sugar, it's probably going to be back in a week (more than enough time for several cancel culture meltdowns of course) I don't know. It's not like it's a song that rotates in and out of the setlist. Prior to last night, it had been played at every Stones concert since Altamont. So, it was

Quotejumpingjackflash5 I'll post my opinion in this thread, too. It seems that if you don't want to close your ears and pretend everything is alright, you are now called hater here. Well, everybody's choice, if you don't (wanna) hear the huge change in sound, metronome-like and loud, sound crashing drumming of Mr. Jordan, then what can be done about that. I can only

KR seems to be grinning at SJ and SJ smiling back during JJF. It is different. It appears MJ and KR approve of SJ. Doesn't really matter what anyone other then KR and MJ have to say. He was CW choice to replace him on this tour. We all have the choice not to listen to music we no longer approve of but somehow I think people will still listen and complain.
