Mick rented a house from her near the Wilshire-Ebell Theater for a while. Peanut When was this? Actually, I might have seen it live which doesn't confirm the existence of footage of it. Peanut

What is being waited on? Seems that it's all about the vapor locking over the ticket pricing,... No? What comes next? Peanut PeanutGallery QuoteGazza Everything after July is on a 'wait and see' It is not a world tour as such. Those days are over. Their last world tour was 6 segments. Keith talks "world." Any word of a segment beyond Hyde Park, or for now, is that the end of the line? I see that the $85 clean up ticket topic is still in the top on the list, so presumably they're still wrestling with ticket sales. Seemingly, further segments, would suggest some other pricing scheme so as to avoid the continual cont

Quotejazzbass ... What makes you think the Stones will be setting the prices for their tickets? jazzbass — You're not really suggesting that they have no role in this, are you? They do in deciding on proposal(s) that will be accepted, the terms and conditions of which, are not carved in stone, but rather, are subject to negotiation. If you'll go back to the early reactions

No, the truth is that they're not selling them at their high price points which is why it's become an effort of recouping through the mantra of "Thousands" of $85 Tickets - latest news! It's not about splurging — it's about fleecing. Peanut PeanutGallery Quoteleonamccauley The truth is, they're going to keep selling them at this price point as long as

Quotemtaylor Quoteflacnvinyl It's true. The Stones have permanently damaged their reputation among both hardcore fans and hotrocks fans. Well, then you scare the audience / fans away and a good excuse not to continue the tour. Hyde Park 13/7 - last show it will be. By this time, there ought to be some word one way or another on this being the end of the line, or, a revised pricing scheme

Movies lost a bit of their magic when two Hollywood titans predicted that the film industry will soon collapse under its own greed and shortsightedness. Appearing on a University of Southern California panel, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas said they expected studios to bet the farm on fewer, bigger-budgeted films each year rather than a handful of tinier, quirkier titles. But the gamble, they

flacnvinyl — I'm postulating. They played it safe? On balance? Not with their pricing model. Maybe more mindlessly. If they don't come up some viable change up, those casual fans abandoning ship in droves are going to capsize it making their departure. Those worldwide folks that would gladly see them at this point — might fill those seats for completion of a world tour, but a

So then, no righting the ship after they complete the current touring segment? Mick's comment about taking a break and then re-starting up in the fall was a bit before the real heat up over ticket prices, slow filling of seats. They must be planning to re-group somewhere down the line, or what, pack it in? For real? I'm about 5-days behind on the media accounts — which is apt to continu

What/who will determine the viability of adding tour segments? The band? AEG? Fans? Surely they won't keep on truckin' on down the same path, segment after segment,... AEG probably has options or something akin to rights of first refusal on the additional segments, if any. OTOH, others may attempt to step in,... Peanut PeanutGallery

Seems that they've blown it for this first segment having already committed to the pricing scheme initially rolled out, notwithstanding the "$85" attempted backpedaling. Might not an opportunity to recoup themselves, lie in switching from arena to stadium size venues after completion of this initial group of shows, for the balance of a comparable 6-segment last tour [2005-2007?]

Thanks for putting the link up. She's not an LA Times reporter as you said; what she did say was "could be" the last time. My very first thought also, Tatters. Seems to be their mantra.
