AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Only a new Stones album would be more exciting. Oh man, this is such good news, I am really, really, REALLY looking forward to this. McCartney II is one of my favorite albums of all time. Even the bonus tracks are amazing - "Check My Machine" and "Secret Friend." I'm such an old school fan that I remember being disappointed that he didn't

I've listened about four times now. I like it, but it's not extraordinary and there's nothing really special about the song. This album is built out of twice-rejected riffs, so it's probably best to keep expectations low in the first place. It's solid classic mid-range AC/DC. Brian's voice sounds good and the production is fine. I won't lie, I will buy the al

I was 14 in 1984, and a freshman in high school. At that time, Van Halen WAS rock and roll. Eddie certainly left his mark on the history of the electric guitar. He created a unique signature sound that helped define rock guitar at the time, along with his unquestionably virtuoso skills on the fingerboard.

So, it seems AC/DC continue to follow the Stones with their integration of corporate sponsorship. I believe it was Walmart for Black Ice, Major League Baseball for Rock Or Bust, and now Dodge for PWR/UP. I wonder how much goes into offsetting the production cost of the album and promotional materials, or if it's just extra money that they get on top of what they would normally get from a rec

Cool. I look forward to it. I'm guessing their new record is going to be here sooner rather than later. Stiff Upper Lip is a really great album, and I enjoy Ballbreaker a lot too.

Hi friends and neighbors in Stonesland, I hope this finds you all well and happy. I made this mashup about 10 years ago and thought I had lost it, but I recently managed to dig it up and just now made a music video for it. It's a mashup of "All Lifestyles" by the Beastie Boys and "Look What The Cat Dragged In" by the Rolling Stones. I hope someone out there digs it.

QuoteKevinM Thanks for the recommendations, I'm always open to "new" songs/albums, especially from artists/bands I love. I hope to listen to them this week. Macca is next on my uber-deep dive of artists, an ongoing work in progress, lifetime project. If you haven't already, check out YT poster SirPaulRu, his homepage & especially the link below: Paul McCartney - 2

I like the Stones's more recent work, if we can call 40 years recent. For many years I would make mix tape versions and just leave out the songs I didn't like. I can listen to Undercover and not want to skip a track. I think it's all good. I like Dirty Work overall. I don't like Back To Zero or Hold Back. Cut those two songs, and I think becomes a nice, tight little albu

QuoteKevinMI couldn't even name 1 song after early '80s McCartney, it's just fluff & crap...feel free to elaborate either way if you know better. I have to say I disagree strongly. It seems to me that Paul McCartney suffers from the same prejudice the Stones suffer from. In my opinion people who say the Stones haven't put out a good song since "Tattoo You" j

I just don't understand. Reading between the lines, Keith is saying a new album is not a priority for him. It's not like lack of an album to tour behind stops them from touring. Fifteen years and there's 5-7 decent songs, and they might just release them as singles? How often? Not all of us are immortal. I'm sorry. I find it aggravating and depressing.

Old Town Road proved that you can keep a single on the charts with an aggressive regular stream of remixes. The deal for the physical store didn't happen overnight, and the new album has been cooking for years. There was a steady flow of live shows being posted on their YouTube channel up until recently. To me that is keeping them active in the eyes of social media and the younger music f

It appears to me that this could be the next stage of preparing for the 60th anniversary. It proves someone somewhere thinks Stones related merchandise will be popular for the foreseeable future, and that's really only going to happen if they come back hard with an album and all sorts of events for next year and 2022. I would not be surprised if there were another single or two.

QuoteStoneage Yep, the best we can hope for is a new album. But still I wonder if even that is feasible with all five of them living on different places. I have a feeling making a new album is an insurmountable endeavour for them. Like climbing Mount Everest I guess. Takes hundred of oxygen tanks to make it... Unless I'm wrong, I believe the Stones are adept at overdubbing. I think I rec

I dream of a double album and accompanying DVD of them performing all the new songs live. I know that's not going to happen, but I can dream! I have no clue as to what is going to happen with concerts in this new world of social distancing. Their ages and health conditions might play a larger part in the decision of whether to tour or not. It looks to me more and more like the new albu

Absolutely! They did some rockin stuff. Mumbo, 1985 and Spin It On are fierce. I'm actually working on completing my McCartney collection now and just got At The Speed Of Sound yesterday... I haven't listened to it yet, though.

Well, technically they could drop a new album in October with a big anti-Trump single leading it off, but what's the chance of that happening?

This isn't new news. It's well known that Trump's been using their music and the music of others that don't agree with him politically at his rallies for years, and there's nothing that the Stones or anyone else can do about it except make their displeasure publicly known. If there truly was some legal remedy, it would have been taken by now. All the Stones can do is t

I have to say that Living In A Ghost Town is popping up on my YouTube mix in the last few days, and it always sounds good. I like the song and am glad that we have a new Stones track after so long. My question is: am I the only one wondering if these weekly releases of bonus concert footage on YouTube is a planned lead-up to a new album?

I freakin' LOVED Paul McCartney's "Spies Like Us" back in the day. Adored it. A song written for a forgettable '80's comedy movie completely rocked my face off. I listened to that a hundred times if I listened to it once. I simply could not get enough of that heavy sound.

Emotional Rescue is my personal favorite. I would make mix tape versions, leaving out All About You and Indian Girl, then put Down In The Hole and the title track at the end. It would all fit on one 45 minute side of a 90 minute cassette tape. That custom mix always sounded great to me and gave me lots of energy. I associate it with driving down the road on sunny summer days.

It's interesting to come back after a few days and read everyone's latest comments and conversation about the song. The track certainly is topical. That tendency of being too on the nose with the lyrics can sometimes sound cheesy. That's why I think the lyrics to Dangerous Beauty are a little better than Sweet Neocon. It's more effective to take an oblique angle at a subjec
