Have any of the Toronto fans received their $85 ticket notification today? This is for those of us who registered to get same day notice and not the fans who were lucky enough to get the $85 tickets when they first went on sale way back when. Thanks.

Saw The Stranglers in a high-school auditorium in Ottawa and it must have been 77 or 78. The played great and people were completely insane. Beer bottles rolling down the aisles and the air was blue...and it wasn't cigarette smoke. Went with two friends and one was a die-hard C&W fan. Gotta remember this was when C&W was real bad (not that it has gotten any better in my mind). T

This question is for Wesleyman -- or anybody else in Toronto (or elsewhere) -- who got into the pit on May 25 (or into the pit for other shows). I was lucky enough to attend the May 25 show and had great seats. I am now on the $85 "list" for the June 6 show. I gather you get an e-mail that turns into a first come, first served process to get the $85 tickets. If you get them I gather

- Steely Dan in 2003 (I think) absolute drivel - Van Morrison in 2004. It was 35C+ in the shade. Van waddled on stage in a buttoned up suit, pork-pie hat and shades on (it was an outdoor concert and it was dark). He ran through 24 songs in rapid succession. The tempo for each was the same. You could barely recognize Moondance. His interface with the crowd was limited. "Let's hea

I was in a restaurant about two years ago and a woman seated next to me was singing along to one of Shania Twain's vapid tunes. I had to actually listen to the song on the radio to catch the line that Shania was bleating out (didn't Steve Earl once call her America's most expensive table-dancer? Yes, I know she is Canadian) between all the yips and moans she makes. I'm nev

I was right by the B stage at the Skydome show in Toronto several years ago. A guy standing close to me had a California plate with "Keef" on it. He held the plate up (we were about five feet from the B stage) as the Stones were playing. Keith saw it and sauntered over and gave the guy a guitar pick and shook his hand. I thought he was going to crap himself (the guy..not Keith).

July 4, 1978 in Rich Stadium in Buffalo with 90,000 drunk and drug-addled fans. Tickets were $20 (yes..$20 bucks). I still have my ticket stub along with all of the other 18 ticket stubs from the other shows I've seen. No reserved seats and the gates opened at about 8 a.m. in the morning. People had brought tons of booze and they were confisicating anything that was in glass bottles as

My friend managed to get two on-stage tickets to the Moncton show. We are both die-hard fans and I have to tell you that it was an amazing experience. We were in the second tier, stage right in box 13 directly overhead of Lisa, Bernard, Blondie and Chuck. We actually met Blondie and Bernard in the Delta Hotel earlier that day and they both told us they don't know the set until an hour bef

Thanks for the report about the onstage tickets. My buddy and I have them for the Moncton concert on September 3. They expect about 85,000 fans so it should be a great experience. I'll give you a report after the show. Headed to Ottawa as well this weekend (seats close to the stage) and it will be interesting to compare the two shows.

My friend managed to score two stage tickets online through TicketMaster to the Moncton show on September 3. It should be interesting. I'm now lucky enough to have tickets to see them in Ottawa, Moncton and Toronto. Looking to score 4 in Amsterdam next July as well

Bad news my friend. The show you heard last night was not "live" from the Phoenix Theatre. It was the show from the Palais Royale two years ago. We wuz robbed and Q-107 lied to all of us.

This is absolute crap. The cement heads at Q107 should kicked in the ass for this sleazy trick. What bullshit. They advertised this all day as being the Live Phoenix show and it obviously was not. Scumbags. I should have known better. The DJ was a guy by the name of John Scoles who made snide comments all night long about the Stones. He even said he did not like them. I imagine he is a hug

It was hard to tell at the South end of the building, however, I thought I heard bits and pieces of Neighbours when we first arrived. We moved to the North side and while the sound was better, the traffic drowned most of it out. I caught a few bars of what I thought was All Down The Line. I intend to head back and will post again tomorrow.

I wandered over to Greenwood School on Monday night and spent an hour or two listening to the Stones rehearse. Heard several tracks from the new album, Beast of Burden, Heartbreaker and a few others. There were about 40 die-hard fans and all of them had Stones stories to tell. One lady (along with two friends) spent about 5 minutes speaking with Jagger last week...and there was nobody else aro

I live about a 10-minute walk away from the school the Stones are rehearshing at in Toronto. It is a relatively new build building (the kid who lives next door to me goes there) and is fairly soundproof. The windows have all been papered over and security is tight. Not much action so far and I've seen a few people hanging around. A bartender at our local bar was walking by the building la
