Not my favorite, may be true that it does not include one single bad tune but the production is just awful. If they re-recorded the whole album with a completley different sound and production then it maybe would be a great album.

I like the album so far. The only real clunker is Whole Wide World. Very generic pop-rock that could've been made by any band. The chorus sounds like something from Eurovision Song Contest.

Quotekeefriffhards Mick's voice is actually manufactured in the studio, he doesn't sound anything like the same live. There's a big difference between performing a 2 hour concert and recording in the studio. Mick probably records a few lines and then rests for half an hour before singing the next part. In concert he has to be very conservative and careful to not lose hi

QuoteTaylor1 This song blows away anything on a Bigger Bang I'll take Laugh I Nearly Died any day over this one. More genuine and less bombastic.

Ghost Town by far, a much better song with Charlie on drums. Angry had all this build up and teasers just to deliever this very mainstream happy pop song. I want the Stones to be darker and cooler. Best scenario would be if their first album in 18 years dropped without any forewarning at all, with no guest artists (except Bill maybe).

I think it's a decent pop song, but kind of feels like a dumbed down version of the Stones. There's a good chance the rest of the album will be better.

I don't know how well updated the Facebook article in question is. But since Forty Licks was just released on Spotify, "Losin' My Touch" with only 141.691 streams must be one of the least played studio songs.

Quotepowerage78 And the first single is a track without Charlie. I was hoping for around 50% of the songs would be with Charlie, but 2 tracks is better than nothing. Drums sounds good on Angry, the fills towards the end reminds me a bit of the studio version of Start Me Up.

Quotedaniel t No, thanks... I don't understand how people are still listening to these bands when they are grown adults.

Quotesjs12 I got the Blueray / CD pack and I watched it over the weekend. I really thought it was an entertaining show and in particular I thought the mix was great. I probably won't ever listen to the CD and it's a shame they always seem to package these as a CD/DVD or CD/BR mix because it's a bit of a waste. No doubt the combined packaging is something to do with marketing or ch

When I first saw this show I thought they sounded a bit old. Less sloppy and rough than in 2007 for sure, but lacking some energy instead. Everyone looks focused and dialled in, determined to deliver a worthy 50th anniversary show. Overall it's a good show and definitely better than many other shows they've done the last ten years.

Listening to this song I always think of "Being Mick" and the scene when Mick visits Lenny's house. Came across as Lenny wrote all the music himself and Mick only added lyrics.

Quotetommycharles Mick has certainly helped his voice out a bit after the fact, but no matter, it helps the overall show out I think. You mean some vocals are overdubbed? Or just pitch corrected?

They could've streamed an unreleased show for free on youtube to honor Charlie. Free + youtube ensures a lot of viewers, but a "Kiwse" restream behind a paywall, how many people will be interested in that, a few hundred maybe?

Midnight Rambler was great on ABB-tour and had some novelty value in 2012-2014 with Taylor. Nowadays with Steve it's a bit too static sounding and doesn't swing like it used to. It's a great song but not something you need to hear every show.

I guess Mick took singing lessons before the Steel Wheels tour, because his singing became more professional and controlled in the 90's. Some of his best live performances was in the 90's and early 00's. In many shows from the 70's he's just shouting the lyrics.

QuoteJustin Baffling what some people are hearing...or not hearing in these shows. This tour Ronnie has been on point. If people are sensing him being "off" because he's calmer and really focused on creating some truly thoughtful and purposeful solos as opposed to the frantic and wild puppy dog stuff he was doing in the last 5 legs, that is a shame. I'm hearing a very f

Is there a list of songs included in the song vote since 2012 which never won? If You Can't Rock Me comes to mind, I voted for it several times but they never played it... Bummer.

I like the sound better on this one than Licked Live. More pleasant on the ears. The playing is also a bit more loose and relaxed.

Quotetommycharles Watching this now... Stray Cat was really good here. Yea but Keith plays like it's his first attempt in 30 years and he's figuring out the chords along the way, but Mick is fantastic and makes up for it.
