Haven’t read thru all the comments, but for starters whenever you see a 1978 band photo promoting a 1976 concert … yes fake.

It was their best concert ever in my opinion, based solely on the band’s lineup and set list! Plenty of photos out there that are unmistakably the MR encore.

So… who plays harmonica on “Mannish Boy” during this show as Mick sings? Always wondered…

So much to say about this release. I saw the Stones twice in 1975; in Baton Rouge and again in Greensboro. (We were on the front row in BR, quite a thrill) I bought the “Who Went To Church This Sunday” boot LP a year later and subsequently “Charlie Watts & His Fabulous Rolling Stones” and “LA Friday Night” (1975 Nervous Breakdown) LPs which (between the three) covered a complete set. Most of

I have seen it …! It is an incredible document, nothing to compare it to. A must for every serious Stones fan.

Check out John’s book “Sound Man”… nobody in the chain thought to check it out first as I recall. That doesn’t surprise me, does it surprise you? :-)) Ian Stewart was at least a part of that debacle if not actually the one responsible.

I seem to recall that Glyn Johns stated in his book that although they shipped the mobile studio truck over to France in 1970, none of the recording equipment inside was actually operable. Therefore, nothing was recorded from that tour.

Saying he hates the past is probably inaccurate… I just think he is constantly a forward-looking guy. I think he truly believes that the Stones are better than ever and is always pushing that image. Releasing material from their golden era (1969-73) is clearly not a priority for him unfortunately. I can’t help but wonder if he doesn’t want the comparisons?

Fair assessment. I guess I just lost my connection with him after a series of extremely disappointing LPs in the 1980s… fortunately he’s been great about giving the fans lots of top notch live material from the 1970s.

Neil Young was untouchable 1969-1980, and I will pay whatever to get new releases and boots from that period. After Hawks and Doves, forget it. He crashed in the ditch and burned in my opinion.

Automaticchanger is correct... they just took the Glimmerstones b&w video and added a weird color filter and “dust and scratches” to give it the feeling of a 16mmm color film. As Stones collectors, fans, and historians this is important to note..!

Great discussion, great refresher course on the best bootleg ever released. Really enjoyed Chris M.’s website deep dive into the tracks as well as his priceless comment, “Star Star... the final track on GHS that actually woke up the rest of the album...”

These REALLY are priceless photos! As I understand it, the snaps with Mick in the red & white print pattern PJs are from the 9th. The ones in green are from the 10th, the ones in black are from the 13th. (which may have been the best performance of the entire tour, lucky you!)

Wow! These are great, thanks for sharing. Photos appear to be from the 9th, 10th and 13th. (Am I correct?)

I believe that the dvd video is from the 12th. The original “LA Friday Night” article from Rolling Stone magazine (where Jann Wenner gushed about the show he’d just seen... “best Stones show ever!”) featured photos labeled from Friday night which was the 11th. Jagger wore his striped PJ outfit, Keith all in yellow in those pics. As we know the dvd shows MJ decked out in white linen, Keith in blac

Sorry if I wasn’t clear, “Luxury” & “Dance Little Sister” were performed at the Baton Rouge concert I attended. (They did those plus “Rocks Off” at the matinee show, great bootleg of that one) Greensboro was standard ‘75 set list as I recall.

I was there... drove up from Charlotte. A buddy of mine filmed some of it with his dad’s camera from up close, he recently transferred it to dvd and sent me a copy. Greensboro was the second time I’d seen them on that tour, the first was opening night at LSU (evening show) down in Baton Rouge. We were right up front against the stage, a real pressure cooker. They did “Luxury” and “Dance Little Si
