QuoteNaturalust Quotedownagain I've read a number of comments from people feeling a bit silly that they are so upset regarding the passing of someone they never met. Aside from saying that there's nothing wrong with feeling what you're feeling, I'll leave a quote I read when Bowie passed. "We mourn our musical heroes not because we knew them but because they helped us

Quotetony I personally would like the chance to be in the crowd again with my fellow fans and get a chance to cheer and maybe even cry when they flash Charlie’s picture up on the screen. I think he deserves that tribute and the remaining players deserve the chance to keep doing what they love. I hope to see Charlie’s drum set on the stage sitting empty for the rest of their days touring. I'

Quoteswiss As Dean Goodman says, the Amazon reviews are "bullish." (when I first read Dean's comment I thought it said the reviews on Amazon are "bullshit" -- was was about to ask what he meant, since most are quite positive! Anyway, I look forward to reading the book...new perspectives, new material, new insights. Why not? It'll be fun summer reading. Plus,

I had a couple of friends at Berkeley Music school who turned me on to Prince - he was a musician's musician - great way of mixing fusion, rock, and funk into some radical recipes. Peace to you Prince. Gone too soon.

Do my best to make a living as a writer (not a rock writer but I find ways to insinuate the Stones), cook, listen to music, watch boatloads of movies, raise a teenager, and drink lots of wine! After all, we've got the sun, the moon, the air we breath and the Rolling Stones - what else do we need?

Sway is an amazing song. I was laid off in June of 2014 (I'm now working for the same crazy place that laid me off). The fist t song I listened to after I got the bad news was Sway. It helped me get through the crap and move me to the other side. One of my very favorites. And that's all I'm gonna say about that. It steals my heart away.

I'm glad they're doing this. I read about it a year or so ago. It's good to hear some good news on such a sad day.

Big fan! I agree Season 3 sucked; this season has started off much improved. But what's up with Carrie and that young lad? Am I the only who finds this confusing and a bit sad; I mean let's face it, it's not going to end well. Poor Quinn.

When your late-night friends leave you in the cold gray dawn. AND It's just that demon life that's got you in its sway. (You might say I've been having a less-than-stellar year..but it's alright now...in fact it's a gas)

Hey JT, Good luck with this project. Exile is my all time favorite Stones album. I'm not that knowledgeable about all of the outtakes, but if you haven't checked out The Rolling Stones Complete Recording Sessions 1962-2012 by Martin Elliot, it might be helpful in succeeding in your quest. Happy Hunting!

QuoteBeforeTheyMakeMeRun I've got a copy of 'Beat Beat Beat' with the October 26, 1963 Saturday Club Recording, along with 'Come On' (beginning slightly cut off) and 'Roll Over Beethoven', as well as 22 other BBC performances. I can see if it's in the Stones Vault already or upload the single track for you, just give me some time. Excellent - thanks so mu

Hi guys, I understand they recorded it on the BBC Maida Vale Studios, London, and it was played live in 1963 and 1964. Does anyone know where I can buy or get a copy of this recording? Thanks, Memphis

Only 4 times (I'm not worthy!) Toronto 1975 (my dad brought me) Foxboro (outside of Boston), 1997 Chicago, 2013 Question - for those of you who've seen the Stones in different countries...Does Mick say a few things in the native tongue (ha - no pun intended)?

I loved LIFE. Obviously from the dialogue on this thread, it's affected us in different ways. I came to the book with very little knowledge about Keith and the Stones. I bought at as a Christmas gift for my husband - who at the time he was the big Stones fan in the family (I've since eclipsed his #1 Stones fan ranking). I didn't think it would be anything more than a bunch of drive

Hey guys, I searched to try to find a thread on this - so please redirect this topic...I couldn't find one but I'm sure it must be out there. I saw the Stones in Chicago in May of 2013. Someone here had posted that a tribute band (Tumbling Dice – I think), were playing at the Hard Rock. I and my pal sashayed over. A terrific party. I met fans from all over the U.S. and the world.

Yes, LB - it was liked by people too! I admit that you're probably right, stonesrule. It could've been a better book -- maybe a bit more introspective -- but regardless, a great read. I must say, it was my very first reading on the Stones/Keith so the stories and the escapades were brand new to me. (A latebloomer myself .) LIFE cemented my feelings towards the band and peeked m
