Trying to track down a recording of the Boston and Chicago club shows on the 2002 Licks Tour. I saw a compilation years ago, can't remember where. Old news but hoping for some luck. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro-HST

Mac is the guest dj on Austins KUTX until 7. Great show so far with a few Keith anecdotes sprinkled in. He often plays for free on Thursday nights at Lucky Lounge and is always great if anyone on the board is passing through Austin.

I hit the jackpot via a 12 for a penny Columbia House mail in. This was early in the compact disc age and the only Stones available through the oft ripped off company was Exile on Main Street. At the age of 12 the album was a fantastic revelation and light years away Ruby Tuesday. I worked backward from there; Slim Harpo, the gospel soul that inspired Shine A Light, country sleaze via Sweet Virgi

I saw Ian Maclagan in Austin @ Luckys Lounge on 7th Street a few years back where Mac does a regular free weekly gig on Thursdays. Super great guy, had a pint with him and I asked if he would play Debris but he said no, too close to his heart and Ronnie Lane. It's one of the best songs I've ever heard, reminds me of fall in New England, and some of the buddies I use to lobster with on

They are a different band with Taylor; higher energy, more fire, and a little swagger under the sails. Had no plans to see them again but will now for sure.

An instant classic, points for the novelty but they pulled it off. 5 times through and it keeps getting better.

Benefit’s Producers Condemn Scalpers By JAMES C. McKINLEY Jr. Published: December 7, 2012 NY Times After days of complaints from music fans, the producers behind the 12-12-12 benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy victims denounced scalpers on Friday for reselling tickets to the event on StubHub and other Web sites for many times their face value. The producers — James Dolan of Madison S

Tony Garnier still on bass. I think he's been with Bob since the late 80's. He'll get a book deal eventually though Dylan keeps his distance. As sheer curio, check out the documentary by Winston Watson who toured with Bob for a few years. Fascinating insight and he was canned because Van Morrison didn't like his drumming. Bob works in mysterious ways...

Might have been posted already but a response from David Lowery of Cracker and Camper Von Beethoven to an essay written by a 21 year old NPR intern. Apparently the girl owns 11,000 songs but has only paid for 100 of them and claims her generation will never pay for music again.

Not sure why the angst over this release, seems like splitting sonic hairs to me. On first listen it's a revelation and instant classic. Most of us are probably not audiophiles and the compression issues won't matter on a car stereo or Ipod dock. Why the low key release? I'm not aware of any press release or official announcement. Is it a disdain for the material or a concess
