Quotenick QuoteMitchSeaGull LOL. You sound like a true anti-Semite. I just thought Jagger used poor judgement. So did VH-1. Look "Stelth" poster, you are still ignoring the shirt said "Destroy". I stand by what I said. Furthermore you posted that "Swastikas are so cool" so is this a situation of "it takes an anti-semite to know an anti-semite? hey Mitc

Quotelem motlow Quotepinkfloydthebarber i m not saying the song offends my sensibilities. i m saying jagger wrote it purposely to provoke the social norms of the times, to which the rock and roll lifestyle did not conform what i mean by 'stupid' is the lyrical content of the track IS stupid - underage sex - is stupid like how jaggers lyrics in 'dancing with mr d' are insi

QuoteAquamarine OK, well, I'm not following a lot of your argument here (starting with, lem motlow and I don't seem to be contradicting each other--I agree with him), and my original point was just that while the song might offend your sensibilities (i.e. the behavior described as "stupid," etc.), it was nevertheless a genuine picture of stuff that genuinely did go on. That&#

'had it with you' is about the only song on the record that i like 'one hit' as well 'had it with you' is rootsy, sparse, bare, minimal and aggressive; a great little binge of boogie woogie other than that the record is absolute garbage, and is the stones trying to assimilate into the 80s with crappy talking heads disco type songs like 'back to zero

Quotelem motlow Quotepinkfloydthebarber QuoteAquamarine Dunno about stupid, how about realistic. A lot of bands of this era had songs in a similar vein. nah, its just stupid. all those 'similiar vein' songs are stupid. 'realistic'? please. if jagger (or any rock star) banged a 13 year old, he's an @#$%&. if i were her dad, i'd of gleefully wrung his scrawny

elvis was the King, not johnny rotten. neil flips it about johnny rotten to make a point he says 'the king is gone but he's not forgotten' (elvis) 'is this the story of a johnny rotten' (no, its not about johnny rotten) johnny rotten was and is not dead (or gone)

QuoteJMARKO QuoteHis Majesty A reflection of the reality of rock stars banging 13 - 15 year olds all the same. He's being salacious. And he does it to perfection with an equally perfect musical backing to support the tone. The reality he is reflecting is not simply the behavior of his colleagues, but the behavior/character of some of the women they have encountered. Just like Stupid Gi

my point here is, jaggers lyrics in this song are so over the top that the intention is clearly tongue-in-cheek and intended to be humorous -- probly a reaction to all the silly moralists worrying about the 'evil' influence of the stones and rock & roll in general

good post. compressed digital music is crap people today listen to compressed audio on subpar headphones and the compression thing that audiophiles SHOULD (and often are, to be fair) be concerned with is dynamic range compression, not data compression. that's a vastly more noticeable degradation.
