This is just awful news. The thing I keep remembering is a very moving interview with her father on BBC radio a few years ago, where he was saying that he could no longer reach her. She was lost to drugs. A terribly sad thing for a father to say. Was she pushed back on-stage too soon? Who knows... maybe she agreed to it.

There seems to be some dispute on television news stations about how his surname should be pronounced. Falk - to rhyme with the first syllable of 'alcohol' or Falk - to rhyme with the first syllable of 'Balkan Peninsula' Which one do you say?

QuoteElmo Quoteneptune Quote24FPSBut I've never even heard a mention of what happened to Brian Jones Inc. after he died. With only an interview or two around the time of his death, the Jones family seemed to draw a shroud around their privacy. Who knows, maybe they still have the right to profit from Brian's image, and just don't realize it. I have a feeling that Brian's fam

When I first heard 'Salt Of The Earth', I thought the lyrics were ironic. The idea of the Stones caring about the proletariat seemed absolutely implausible.

Quotecolonial There's a local Rock band just starting out who are thinking of calling themselves..JAGGER..Back in the 1970's here in New Zealand there was a band that cheekily called themselves..THE STONES..(on the Flying Nun label)..cool a'.. I've heard The Stones. They went on to be the Bird Nest Roys, I think.

QuoteSwayStones Quotemarvpeck What does Procul Harum mean? It is said to represent Latin procul harum, 'far from these things. Gary Brooker explains (full interview here : ) About the Latin name. How did you invent that? We didn't invent it, our manager at the time 'phoned up and said he'd found a name. We said, 'What is it?' 'Procol Harum.'

I associate A Whiter Shade.. with pirate radio. Not that I'm old enough to remember pirate radio, but every time I hear the song's opening bars I visualize a boat on the high seas, rocking gently in black and white, broadcasting music to the nation.

This reads like an April Fool, but I'm assured it's kosher. Apple 'Planning To Ban i-Phone Videos At Gigs' Recording your favourite band at a concert or festival could soon be a thing of the past, if Apple gets its way. Patent plans filed by the corporation in late 2009 have come to light, showing plans to automatically shut off i-Phone cameras if they are held aloft. Th

Miss You was a single in the late spring of 1978. It's gone down in history as a pivotal Stones release, but what were your impressions at the time? I took a little convincing at first, but that may be because of my age. (I was 13, and not much of a disco fan, and even though I was fascinated by the Stones, and desperate to investigate their back catalogue as pocket money permitted, I had
