After 55 years, as long as they keep opening with Street Fighting Man I'm happy..
I want something new and surprising. Angry would fit both categories. In my 13 shows I've had:
Satisfaction - 1
JJF - 5
SFM - 2
SMU - 4
PIB - 1
I've seen all openers since 1969 (40-ish shows). I Wanna Be Your Man O2 was a nice surprise, SMU during St Forum: Tell Me
Mick joked at the Rose Bowl that they should play Little Old Lady from Pasadena... actually great to think about! I also thought Born to Be Wild would have been a great cover. Forum: Tell Me
I was able to get 3 @ Levi, 1 @ LA, and 1 @LV. All floor, all from my single Mac using different browswers and 3 differet accounts.
I had pit seats pop up for all shows, but each gone when I selected... Fees would take me to Europe and back, ticketbastard.. Forum: Tell Me
I remember Out Of Control at Dodger stadium before it was released; crowd loved it even though no one heard it before. Saint of Me not so much. Forum: Tell Me
>> Imagining what the impact must of been when it first came out, compared to everything else on the radio. Must have sent shockwaves...
It sure did. I was in 7th grade. Beyond radio and newspaper noise, the nuns in my California school went nuts. The easy part was "I can't get no.." was "ruining our English." We got scolded about the lyric themes, and after Forum: Tell Me
Nice thread, really makes me think of all the years...

Maybe it’s because I’m from LA and in a town square in Leipzig right now … I’ve heard every new stones song since 1965. To me this is their best ever - spine tingling every time I’m hearing it. Blues choir rock soul drums Keith Stevie Gaga oh my God. I remember Sinatra’s tour when he was 80 —>> Mick is still killing it. Grammy. Forum: Tell Me

When the Stones and I were growing up in England in the 50s, getting a tattoo wasn't a rite of passage for rebellious teenagers. Tattoos were for sailors and bikers and other rough people and were considered vulgar and unsightly - certainly not "cool". By the time the American fashion for rockstar tattoos developed, all the Stones were fairly mature adults, but ge Forum: Tell Me

I just hope Hackney Diamonds is like Some Girls - perceived at the time as a huge "comeback" with a lot of airtime, played in discos, and a great tour. And of course the songs are simply great.
As far as I know they will never do something they already did
I actually agree. I was speaking about the result, not the content. Forum: Tell Me

maybe this needs a new thread. There was a similar no-go concert July 4 1976 LA Coliseum (was supposed to be bi-centenial related) that didn't happen. I live in SoCal but was in Europe at the time so couldn't follow, so I never knew why it faded away. Does anyone know? Forum: Tell Me
Too many to list
But the most memorable to me is an intro about Mao - responsible for 55 million deaths, more than anyone … absolutely a story of power
Sorry I can’t recall exact book Forum: Tell Me
Ugh... sorry BV I see you had to merge... I guess search needed a wider time window. Getting old I guess as I thought I had seen the thread, too.

Coming out Nov 19, some song samples are out there; I'm impressed.

I've wondered about this for years so thought I'd finally post. Like BV I've been in tech all of my 45+ working years, so the Stones got my attention throughout by incorporating technology earlier than other bands. Some examples I can recall, maybe I'm wrong on some. Comments / additions welcome, particularly since I don't know studio stuff.
