Kate Bush came from Welling in the Kent / South London borders just a short bus / train ride from Dartford! Best connection I can come up with.

Yes I like him. Always looked forward to Marc and T-Rex appearing on Top of the Pops in the early 70's. He was one of the giants of the Glam Rock era in the UK and one of the first rock stars I became aware of and went out and bought their records. He was a great loss in my view and I still occasionally go and see T-Rex tribute bands when they play nearby.

QuoteManofwealthandtaste Hi Manofwealthandtaste, Your post got me doing some research to see what I could find out and there is a DVD available from Amazon of which includes some tracks of the Marquee gig along with an interview with Alexis Korner. It's called Alexis Korner & Friends Live in London. I had forgotten that Ian Stewart was playing that night although I remembered Ruby

My first Stones concert in August 1976 on my 16th birthday at Knebworth when the announcer boomed out the bands name and I heard the opening chords of Satisfaction and then saw the band on stage with Jagger strutting out and singing the first words of the song. A real goosebump moment. It was my first ever gig as well so I started at the top!

QuoteDeltics Sad news, his "Illustrated Record" was essential reading and a vital source of information in the pre-internet age. This was my first Stones book too. I remember going to see the Stones at Knebworth in 1976, buying Roy's book, Black and Blue and Rolled Gold and have been a fan ever since. RIP Roy.

QuoteGreen Lady By the way, what an incredibly appropriate choice Beast of Burden turned out to be! I've walked for miles - my feet are hurtin'.. Your not wrong there Green Lady. Took us ages to walk to Richmond station which was chaotic with staff not knowing much about which trains to get. By the time our tube got to embankment there were no more trains from Charing Cross. So we

QuoteManofwealthandtaste I saw her at the Borderline here in London last November. During the course of the evening she played 5 different guitars, sounded good and I would definitely see her again if in such a small venue. I saw her at the Borderline too Manofwealthandtaste. I thought she was great a good singer and guitar player and a great band. Would definitely go and see her again and

Drove home from Southampton to Dartford and got in at 2:00 a.m. after dropping my gig buddy off in Orpington. Kent. Can't sleep so having a couple of Irish Whiskeys to relax before bed. So glad we went to this show scored Pit A with our lucky dips and had a fantastic view. It was far more intimate than the 2 London shows and it was great to hear them play Sweet Virginia. Also good t

Yes I'm a fan. I saw Ian Dury and the Blockheads at the Hammersmith Odeon in London in the early 80's. They were a great band and he was a wonderful character and a great guy. Love him and his band wish he was still with us.

QuoteLiveAtHidepark Quotemattleeuk The most important thing is enjoying whatever you collect. Matt Lee, Collecting is strange. I love bootlegs (silvers & vinyls). When I received my first bootlegs, I remember how exited I was when I received "Mick Taylor We Miss You" red vinyl. I was exited by the music on the record, and I was exited by the item itself. Pure joy w

Thanks Matt appreciate it. I would be definitely be interested in making a trip up to London from Kent to view your collection whenever you are doing a showing. I love the Steel Wheels bottle of bubbly and no definitely don't open it much more valuable if kept intact. I like the fact you have focused primarily on memorabilia and unusual items. There is so much to collect that it's

Fantastic collection Matt. Looking forward to the museum launch I would definitely love to come to that. I have a small collection myself of various items I have collected over the years. As a teenager I loved going for trips up to London to record fairs and collectors shops to buy bootlegs and various items of memorabilia.

I remember that Whistle test special they did on the Paris 1976 show. That was the first time I had seen any concert footage from the Stones and still remember what a thrill it was seeing a Stones concert on the TV. I couldn't imagine back then that 40 plus years later I would own a whole library of videos and DVD's of concerts and documentary films of the band. Nor could I hav
