I like Some Girls, but perhaps not as much as most of their previous work. I do agree it was the last album where they felt like a team. I think it was also the last time Keith really was on top of his game as a writer, vocalist, or player and that's key. Once those harmonies of his went sour, it kind of ruined their vocal blend. Tattoo You is cool, but it's hard to say when the vari

Funny some people really think there are doubles and crap like that! Still those changes his voice and face went through is such a short time were brutal. I can see how someone nutty can run with it. It was always a joke to me that it was a fake Keith after the Some Girls tour, but man those quacks who really think so. Did one call him a reptilian shape changer? I just am learning people think th

Hi James, I'm flattered you kind of remember this after so long. I wasn't a teacher, but a student that needed to interview a person of interest for a media class, I was going to do your history with the Stones for my class assignment, but yeah we talked on the phone about 4-5 times right before you left the area and we did have our meeting set. I cannot remember where exactly , but

Thank you Green Lady. I think it's one of the very best things about Brian ever done on him with new stories for once.

Man I always wanted this movie to be found. It really is out of synch? That's a pet peeve. What a letdown, but I love the Brian era so much I cannot rule getting it out. Is the live footage at all good? Are there any good interview moments?

Quotefarawayeyes2 Quotealimente Quotehot stuff Keith voice in Before they make me run has always intrugued me. thin, high-pitched, nasal. its even TOO thin and TOO high-pitched for 1978. If you listen to keith singing during 78 usa tour, his voice had already changed. lower, i'd say broken. maybe Keith lost that typical 1969-1977 timbre just while recording some girls. ) Old post

Hey if you are the real Phelge hello! You would not remember me but back in 1999 or so we were going to do an interview on your book when I was in college for a class I had. I think you moved so it didn't go ahead, but we talked several times. You were staying in Chicago at the time. I think the book is about 400 some pages long, it get's that era OK until the demo they made at IBC

While the Paul Trynka Brian Jones book that came out last year was a good rebuttal to Life, that is all that it was. It's scope I'm finding is very narrow. I don't know why but I find it's tone way too dark. Yes Brian had a hard time of it, but he wasn't always brooding. Even the high points are tinged with more angst than I think there were was. For instance I bet the St

I will stay home because of the venue and the prices. I always hoped the Stones would change how they do things on tour since 1989 but no dice. I guess 1994 will have to be my only show. Even then the price I paid for lousy seats was very much not worth it.

Quotetreaclefingers Quotewhitem8 I know tatters! I am so jealous you got to see that tour in Detroit. I was 12 when he rolled throught the US, and didn't even know about tours and even where to begin finding out about live shows and how to go. But I was a Wings fanatic and love collecting posters, 45s, albums...anything I could get my hands on. I think the second album I ever bought was V

Still going on this thread? Anyhow I would just like to say that arguing over what earns a song credit is diluting the issue. Mick and Keith are known to be stingy when it comes to credits of any sort. It's not a theory, it's a clear fact. They deserve credit for their talent, but they try to take too much. Had they not been so stingy, Brian, Bill, and Mick Taylor wouldn'

They have a lot of great stuff, but they won't release to researchers. I hate this kind of hoarding if you will. They prices they charge are so high none of this footage will be seen close to complete as they only sell to film makers.

This thread is on Brian Jones and his music. I don't give a damn what he did privately 45 years ago, I care about the music. Drugs, violence. and ego are part of many peoples lives now and then, but Brian gets more shit about it than need be. He was the founder of the Rolling Stones, not a boy scout.

We get very pedantic on here about Brian's songwriting, or flaws (which don't matter a shit to me) but the basic thing one cannot deny is that Brian's touch added something that was not there later. If you like them post Brian better, that's fine, but to take away what he did do musically is very wrong and has been the name of the game for years. My two cents is that Andrew ha

Brian was pretty visable in the 1965 clips for the most part. He did seem less into it to a point, but his playing on stage was still good. Come spring of 1966 to early 1967 and he takes a more central position again. We have very little performance styled footage mid 1967-mid 1968, but he seems fine in the JJF promos. It's all the stuff after the May 1968 bust where he comes off as unimport
