This is a young group singing Keith's song, Happy. They do a great job on this and other Stones classics, such as Route 66. It is heartening to see young people enjoying this classic rock. Does this mean that more young people are discovering the Stones ? The group is the Lady Shelters and the lead guitarist is phenomenal.

Lady Gaga would be my pick as an opening act. She did sing with the Stones on Sweet Sounds of Heaven. I am surprised no one has mentioned her name. She is truly a great singer, having performed duets with Tony Bennett. She could also join the band for at least one number, such as SSOH. She could easily hit the high notes on Gimme Shelter too.

Suppose Andrew Watts had asked you to choose the least enjoyable track on HD, which would be deleted, and then recommend as a substitute, another Stones song. I like all of the HD tracks but would state that Driving Me Too Hard should go. The replacement would be All the Rage, which never made it on an album, I think. The opening riff is a dark, howling masterpiece by Keith, and features two

I have seen the Stones five times and enjoyed them all, but I hate seeing them in the outdoor areas. I have been rained on and made miserable by the cold. The screens are too tiny for such large crowds, and the sound quality is poor. Any one heard any rumors about the location of any indoor gigs ?

I am a big fan of Steve. His drumming is so close to that of Charlie Watts, it is uncanny. He has the same slow steady beat as Charlie with some surprises now and then. I am neither a musician nor a drummer. Steve is a great drummer , and I cannot tell any difference between the two styles. I mean this a compliment to the great dearly departed Charlie Watts.

Several weeks ago Ronnie was asked about his role in the Stones organization. He has spent much of his time urging Mick and Keith to write songs and hurry and get a new CD out to the public. When it is time to finish the songs with his guitar work, he is ready and enthusiastic. He said he felt comfortable in this secondary role. Also, his guitar playing is unbelievable on the new album, espec

I was lucky. I was told that I would receive it on October 20, but got it on October 23. I do have Prime Video and also Kindle Unlimited, so maybe they gave me top priority. I live in West Virginia.

This is the worst song on the album. It consists of at best 4 or 5 notes repeated ad nauseam, over and over, until you want to scream and say STOP! It sounds like something a teenage boy might compose for his garage band, in the sixties, in order to impress his girl friend. I like all of the other songs though.

Paul Finebaum is a commentator on the SEC channel, where football fans report their opinions of the SEC football teams, like Tennessee and Alabama. He said that the Stones should not have released a new CD, since their very best work was done in the seventies and eighties. To try to eclipse their earlier achievements would be a grave mistake. He apparently thinks they would be making fools of t

If Keith is as healthy as he says he is, he might be composing songs and playing guitar for another 10 years.

Anyone see the Texas Longhorns versus Alabama football game on ESPN on September 9, 2023? Angry or portions of it were played often, before or after commercials. Pretty cool. Texas won at Alabama.

Angry is a great song, but I would have preferred a longer guitar solo by Keith instead of the one of 15 seconds. The rhythm guitar work was spot on. Also, cut out at least the last 20 seconds of Angry. That was just filler. I have already ordered the CD from Amazon, and am very excited about getting it soon.

I have heard Keith Richards called the Human Riff or the Riff Master, for his ability to invent intriguing and creative musical phrases that are down and dirty and memorable. Examples would be the opening chords of Brown Sugar or Jumping Jack Flash. If Keith is indeed the Human Riff, what other guitarists would fill the numbers two to five ?

This video just popped up on my computer. While I could not hear all of the conversation between Mick and Keith, it does seem that the announcement was not to take place a few days ago at a concert but at an early date in January 2022. Keith was heard reminding Mick that this was not to be the big day.

Down in the Hole is an excellent bluesy song. Watts drumming is superb. Most of the other songs on the CD are OK but not that great.

This is an article by David Remnick of The New Yorker. There is also a video of Resnick with CNN. The comments by Paul seem a little insulting. The Stones have covered quite a few old blues musicians, and their music was influenced by the great blues people. But they sang romantic ballads, dabbled in disco, and wrote some wild and raucous rock and roll. Many dealt with important social

All I hear from Jordan is bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, and bang. Few fills and change of tone when the mood of the song changes. Mainly noise. But, maybe he will get better. The new drummer should be auditioned and he should be someone from the UK. Many guitarists were auditioned when Mick Taylor left the band. Why not do the same for the drummer ?

Ringo would be the worst choice of all. He bangs on the cymbals loudly and haphazardly like a fourteen year boy with a new drum on Christmas Day.

I was listening to YouTube: Rolling Stones Outtakes Special Edition, Criss Cross, The original is very different from the newer version with the half nude model. Specifically, the opening riff is better. The newer version is markedly better than the one on the Special Edition. For instance, does Jagger add more vocals, or is all or part of the singing redone by him, or does a computer make c

This is a new Netflix movie that describes and showcases a number of great jazz and rock drummers, both living and dead. Great movie. I also want to say that I know little to nothing about drumming, and I will also say that most of the performances of these well known drummers fell flat. I heard a lot of noise and frantic banging of sticks on drums. Charlie Watts was also shown playing severa

I listened to the Stones for at least 5 years, concentrating on Keith's guitar work. Then I discovered that Charlie and Bill were just as essential. Charlie was best on the slower songs, such as Angie, Down in the Hole, and Love in Vain.

She is a very pretty lady about 25 years old, who is the lead singer and guitarist of the Laura Cox band. She is certainly a virtuoso but does not have the Stones groove and feel. Here she is playing Gimme Shelter, and there is another You Tube video of her playing and singing Jumping Jack Flash. She plays JJF way too fast, and this song should always be sung by a male. Any thoughts ?

Don't laugh, but I enjoy a good Disney flick from time to time. They can be very entertaining and the technology of animation has increased markedly since the early days of Porky Pig. These songs were She's a Rainbow and Sympathy for the Devil. They were heard at appropriate times to describe the scene or a character.
