What if Mick, Keith, Paul and Ringo decided to record an album together? Mick and Paul could share vocals, Paul and Keith could play bass and guitar, Mick and Paul could share vocals, and so on. The songs could be new or old favourites. Wouldn't it be interesting even though a long shot?

BV, you have done an incredible job with this unique website. I have depended on it since the 1990s. Time waits for no one...and I look forward to the future. Please be a part of ours. Richard

I just finished the book. It's an entertaining and very thorough read. He's done his research! Most of it comes from published sources but he puts it all together through the eyes of one city. But the Stones do need another Madison Square Gardens gig to cement their NYC reputation.

Totally agree - been here since around 1996 and love the fact that there are no ads or pop-ups. And yes, this is a true internet forum in its purest sense. Thank you BV.

Been hooked on them since April 1968 and although there have been ups and downs along the way, they've always been my favourite group. I don't listen to them all that often now but I pay attention to what they are doing and I have all of their albums right up to now - and there's a space waiting for that new next album.

Here's another recent title - "Just a Shot Away: Peace, Love, and Tragedy with the Rolling Stones at Altamont" by Saul Austerlitz I've read both and would read another title if there was one.

In 2006 they played Halifax Canada during a bad rain storm with howling winds. They cut one song off at the end. It was a great show and they mentioned it the next day. I was up over the stage above them and yes, it was a horrible night weather wise - but the place was rocking.

I've been on this site since circa 1995-96. People come and go but the topics remain relevant - mostly. Great work, Bjornulf. The Stones should be putting you on their tours at their cost.

This was posted on another Stones site and deemed a fake - it sure sounds so.

I don't post that much any longer - not recently - but I've been on this site since circa 1995-96.

He was such a HUGE part of the Stones in their formative years. Hope he has found his peace.

I've got a Flashpoint version that has a Collectibles disc included. That one features Cook Cook Blues, Harlem Shuffle 6, Mixed Emotions 4, etc. The album is beautifully presented and doesn't look like a knock-off. I found it in a California second hand record shop but have never seen it anywhere else.

Still is one of my favourite Stone songs. Loved it back in the 60s and still do.

Powerful story that made me smile. As for me, I first saw the Stones in 1975 after discovering them in 1968 when I was 15. Ever since, my mother has seen them as hoodlums, even now. I love that - still a bit of childlike rebellion involved. :-)

I stopped by there last year. It looks empty but there's still an Altamont sign and a little entrance that remains locked. It was hard to imagine the activity way back in 1969.

The former ACC in Toronto where the Stones have played before (twice in 2013) is open for that night. As for them playing somewhere outside the city - sounds like a bad pipe dream to me.

I think I've been here since circa 1992-93 or thereabouts. I still remember Chelsea Drugstore who always had something interesting to share. And for those who were banned, yes, a general amnesty would be a great idea!

I love this album. My favourite song is Dutchman with its powerful story telling. I saw Ingrid play in St. Louis in 2012 at a conference and her group was so tight. That guitarist could play like Johnny B. Goode. CB2,the album is a classic and it must be great being part of it all.

Uriah Heep (circa early to mid-70s) was one of my favourite bands. Didn't like them after that though. I too never thought John Lennon was that great after the Beatles era. Good but not great any longer. I'm a U2 fan but don't think they have an especially strong catalogue. I always liked CSN&Y but think that Crosby was the least talented musically and in song-writing

Sorry about your dad, CB11. I met your sister at a show she and her band performed in St. Louis circa 2012. They were fantastic. I can't wait to get the new Chuck album. What a legacy.

This remains one of my favourite Stones albums. I got it back in 1968 and have loved its quirkiness ever since. Citadel is the perfect rock song with a hint of the future tucked into its sound. The only waste is Sing This All Together (See What Happens Part 2)) and the last part of Gomper. Otherwise, to me, it's an incredible fusion of futurism, psychedelia, and straight out rock/pop.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have been watching for it. I just read a book called 'Alan Klein'and that was an eye-opener. It was written with an eye for neutral observation. The guy was a crook but he also pulled off a few miracles for the Stones and other groups. BTW Chris,I received a copy of your book "James Dean Died Here." It was a fun read and I enjoyed the meticulous deta

Chris, did you write the book "James Dean Died Here?" I love the concept of it - information and photos of pop culture historic locations. In fact I just got the book through Amazon and look forward to an interesting read. It's even available here in Canada.

Hotel California by Barney Hoskyns. It's a great look at Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and 1970s. It covers many musicians of that era.

I was lucky. I had just walked that part of the Promenade about 45 minutes earlier. The attack zone started right at our hotel - initially the rumour was that we were under siege and that bombs had been placed inside. Fortunately that was't true. Bono was just down a block or two from us.
