QuoteHairball I bet (hope) they change the entire stage that was used for the Sixty tour, or at least change the ugly/busy/gaudy/eyesore design that was used. Maybe something more minimal and classy - something similar to the giant towers of No Filter which didn't distract from the performance, but embellished it. Hey! Nothing more classy than a surrealistic depiction of blood and yello

QuoteHarlem Shuffler I remember a choir after the Stones had left the stage singing (I think) Land of Hope and Glory. If it wasn’t that it was another rousing British anthem. Great memory! Sally mentions "Land of Hope and Glory" in the book, specifically requested by Mick and sung by members of the LSO choir.

Quotedcba so a young woman hired to watch over a few kids didn't mind smoking God knows what and snort God knows what... (with a near-fatal result when the white powder she put in her nose wasn't what it was supposed to be). The 70's were strange times indeed... and no matter what Keith later said or wrote ("I handled my drug take perfectly" "with H I was in main

QuoteTopi Hey, remember corriecas and Ziggodome! I thought he was making the whole thing up, but then I noticed it en route to the ArenA - Hey, Ziggodome really is a thing. Fun fact (per Wiki): Although the name 'Dome' refers to a dome, there are no round shapes.

QuoteGerardHennessy I honestly think that a fall tour may be too soon for at least one of the 'big three'. Maybe even more than just one of them. The Stones are fine. It's some of the fans I'm worried about.

QuoteNikkei It's funny how official photographers only work on the first few songs when they could get so many fantastic shots later on. They are escorted in and escorted out by a band or venue rep. No option to stay longer. The band is aware of their presence and makes the appropriate poses during those first 2 or 3 songs.

QuoteStonesfan2146 Quoteschwonek QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack So now it's 16.30 gates open. 18.30 warmup band. 19.00 ready. Stones 19.45 - 21.45 maybe? Yes. Maybe. Last time was 20:30 to 22:45 showtime. I don't expect it to start earlier than 20:30 due to too much daylight. I saw Nick Cave there the other day. Most of the show took place in broad daylight, an unusual backdrop for his

QuoteHairball The weird vibes have been clear to anyone. For starters, there have been many people who have caught coronavirus including many members here who had to miss some shows, Mick himself getting Covid resulting in a postponed show (and one that was cancelled), Sasha missing a show, and then most recently shortened setlist due to the heat in Lyon. Probably quite a few more, but here&

QuoteProfessorWolf guess it's time to start a hottest vs. coldest stones show thread wonder where this one would rank? Seems this will be on par with Bucharest 2007. BV wrote back then: "Inside the stadium it was +38 C during the Charlatans set and by midnight it was +32. Several people blacked out at random places on the field due to dehydration." I also recall the next sh

Official public transport advice for the Stones show: It seems each concert ticket includes a free return trip: With your ticket, you have a return journey to King Baudouin Stadium. To get the ticket, you have to enter the code number of 9 numbers in a GO vending machine.

I just ran down about a thousand of them (give or take) to get to the front row for Nick Cave.

Quotekeefriffhards My heart goes out to all you Swiss fans with tickets, devastating news for you guys. Switzerland isn't exactly a remote country in the middle of nowhere. There's always Milan and Geneva for relative proximity, and all the other cities a quick flight away. With the Bern pit costing about $500 and prices elsewhere as low as $300-odd, savvy fans may even end up saving

The current UK chaos is being blamed on school holidays, just as the previous chaos a few weeks ago was blamed on Easter holidays. Hopefully things will stabilize by the time we get there. Schiphol is supposed to be one of the best airports in the world, so its issues are definitely ominous.

Maybe this is worth a separate post, but I'm just reading about Germany's crazy train promo for (virtually) unlimited train travel for 9 euro per month - June/July/August. Everything's covered except IC, ICE, EC trains, as far as I can tell. So all RE (regional) and local modes - S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, buses are included. Quoterichie26188 There’s currently an extensive poster advertising campaign going on in Liverpool. Suspect sales aren’t as strong as expected for this show. Or they're just trolling Beatle fans. And if ticket sales are slow in Liverpool, that would indicate the "hype" is a bad sign, right? Or is "no hype" a bad sign? I'm confused. I suspect most fans have their
