Albert Maysles told me a book was being done on George Lucas. Albert got the call asking if they could put George down as a cameraman on Gimme Shelter. Albert checked with the lab and they told him that the footage George shot, came back exposed, with nothing on it. And when viewed , they only saw white dust particles… the lab guys teased that they figured that’s where George got the idea for St

Here is the estimate cost from David Maysles .George Lucas was one of them....thanks for the recommendation..Ronnie Schneider Quotethkbeercan We must bear in mind that no one knew in advance what the Altamont concert would become. I was enraged...with the Joel Selvin "they put his dead body on the stage" I wondered why the producer didn't send me a copy after he interviewed me,always a sign... It was quite good until it was cheapened with histrionics. I did confront Selvin at a book signing..there was no body placed on the stage..!!

--I've asked Chip Monck to confirm my memory. I'll get back to you. Quotejohn lomax This is a question for Ronnie Schneider - in his book he shows the original stage designs for the 1970 European tour and in one of the pictures it looks as though there was a plan to have a screen behind the stage - Ronnie do you know if this was something that was being considered? Don't know if

Hi Larry, Thanks for the photos..I love that there are images that back up my memory...the fist image seems to be a fraction of a second before Mick got punched and here's what I wrote in my book: A young uniformed security guard greeted us and said to follow him. He turned around and led us directly into the crowd. Mick was walking next to the guard, a foot or so in front of me, when a

I just saw this..and then noted the reporter.... and be aware that I never talked to him..He wrote when referring to me.... One of the most unusual parts of the contract was the demand that the concert promoter in each individual area put up the entire guarantee upon signing the contract, rather than half on signing and half the night of the concert, as is customary. The Rolling Stones arrived two days before the event...I represented The Stones and never hired anyone for security.. I doubt that anyone 'hired' the Hell's Angels..Based on their use at the Grateful Dead events, it was probably more like... come hang out around the stage and watch the generators..like you usually do at Grateful Dead events. The best part for me came at the 1:49 mark in the 6 minute video..David Crosby says it was a mistake for the Grateful Dead organization to hire the Hell's Angels...Finally the truth that it wasn't the Rolling Stones..they didn't arrive until the day before but the press over these 50 years kept blaming the Stones. What I love best about the article is the 6 minute video, at the 1:49 mark, David Crosby says it was the Grateful Dead organization that hired the Hell's Angels... Here's the link: 50 years ago the Rolling Stones headlined a ‘West Coast Woodstock.’ Altamont ended the ’60s with chaos and death

It's shit like this I just saw from an article in 2009 that pisses me off....: But problems arose when it became known that the Stones were planning to use the event as a pivotal scene in “Gimme Shelter.” Sears Point owners were peeved, negotiations broke down, and the festival again found itself without a home. “We sort of felt like we got taken,” says Alamo resident Bob Matthews, a reco

hopkins () In reply.. The only thing I think about that event is that I am thankful the Hells Angel was standing next to him when he pulled the gun. I have no idea of what Hunter was thinking, nor does anyone else in the world. And I'm thankful it was captured on film and his girlfriend had on a white sweater so we saw the gun, otherwise, I think this would be a much different discussion
