QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteWeLoveYou The original London release of Got Live is good, on vinyl and CD. Find it on file sharing bittorrent sites. The current official CD and streaming version that’s been out for quite a while is dreadful. i have the original vinyl release in stereo and mono (several copies of the stereo) plus several versions on cd and i still find the mixes pretty poor

Software was used to separate out the instruments. It’s not a compete remix sure, it’s as near to one as one can get. This version is clearer. The point of doing this is to hear the instruments more clearly with a degree of separation. To me the official released recording has always been a bit of a mystery, how did they record it? Now it’s a bit less of a mystery. Sure keep listening to the o

Listen with earphones. This guy has digitally processed the song to extract and separate the instruments. You can hear two drum tracks - the original drums plus Keith’s acoustic guitar quite faintly in the left channel and which was recordedb on the Phillips cassette recorder and later transferred to the studio multitrack recorder, and the overdubbed drum track in the centre. The electric guit

QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteWeLoveYou Hi all. I just came out of long-term lurk mode… I think IORR is fine as it is, it’s simple and lightweight and it loads quickly. QuoteRisingStone QuoteWeLoveYou In iPhone’s Safari tap the 'aA' at the top left, then tap the % percentage zoom control until it increases to 150% or 175% or 200%. The text will be larger and easy to read. I tried it on my iPad and found it worked. I didn’t know this trick before. That really helps. I hadn’t bothered about the ‘aA’ for all these years since I bought the iPad six years

QuoteDandelionPowderman Hyde Park is probably the best live version of HTW ever. QuoteS.T.P QuoteStoneage Strangely enough the two most well-known or significant Rolling Stones concerts are remembered for everything else but the music... -Yeah, thats a shame, because both Hyde Park and Altamont shows a really interesting side of the band musically. There are some out of tune songs, but at the s

QuoteDandelionPowderman You sure it's not an echo from one of the guitars? No, pretty sure it's a third guitar. Have a listen, if you go back a couple of pages, I think the YouTube stereo audio is still up. It's during the first verse after the opening riff x4.

I was just listening to Satisfaction, and you can clearly hear three guitars! You can hear it during the first verse - there's Mick T panned left, and Keith to the right, then an extra rhythm guitar in the centre. So someone, Keith or Mick T, must have done the overdub. Why? Who knows, unless they considered at some stage that this concert recording would be a serious release and therefore n

Quotecrumbling_mice Well it's better than his previous offerings that's for sure...a much better 'sound' and having only listened to it a couple of times there are some stand out songs. TO say it's a masterpiece is an exaggeration and the second time I played it my friend who is an average Stones/Keith fan said 'not bad'. The one thing I don't like is K

Quotemikeeder Simple, music itself had basically peaked. This is all personal very subjective taste, but I say the peak of music started slowly in the late forties to early fifties, was there by 1955-6, and lasted through the early seventies-say 1971-72. I think the seventies had a lot good to great music but things slowly got more and more indulgent and "marketed" with disco and artist

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteWeLoveYou Do the CD or vinyl notes say which musician/singer played what on each song? If so, could someone please post the details here? Thanks! Other credits would good also, mastering, mixing etc. Yes it does, but there are some mistakes. No sax player is credited on Substantial Damage, for instance.. Ok, this is a start. With the expert knowledge here then may

Really loving this album. It's quite a mixed bag, something for everyone really. There's some really odd and unusual sounds in this album. Weird effects. A singing choir even. It's definitely an album that you can absorb over a period, something to savour. Some tunes are simply divine - like Love Overdue and Robbed Blind. Amnesia is good also.

Just been watching / listening to this - superb! Midnight Rambler especially, Taylor and all on great form. Mick's singing on I Got The Blues is very soulful. Live With Me has some tuning problems at the start - the sax seems to be out I think - but otherwise it's a great gig. This is the nearest we'll get to seeing the Stones perform the Ya Ya's Midnight Rambler - same gui

Regarding iTunes - I noticed that they were selling individual song videos taken from Stones In The Park, they were up for sale for a few years. BUT - they are no longer avaiable on iTunes, at least the UK store does not sell them anymore. Perhaps they were removed because this re-release will instead be launched for all the iTunes stores. So expect it to be on the UK and German and othe

QuoteNaturalust QuotePoetry A noob question - how can I calculate DR and what does it mean? I am only familliar with the spectral analysis to decide whether a file is lossless. The DR is the dynamic range of the recording. The difference in volume between the quietest sounds and the loudest sounds on the record. It is different for each track and the overall DR rating for an album is an average

Available on iTunes now, just downloaded. Great live performances, and good to have some of those unreleased tracks in better quality. On further listening to the live tracks, I have noticed that sometimes the engineer has reduced the high frequencies of MT's guitar in places (e.g. the first couple of verses of Stray Cat Blues roundhouse version), possibly with Keith also. I think this pe
