The master was in fact a midi disc. The player puts in track breaks if theres a moment of low volume and the recording level on the mic is a bit wonky. It was recorded front row middle and if my memory is right misses the last couple of songs unless AS sourced them from elsewhere (I think there is some video of these songs on youtube). I also recorded the show at The Brook Southampton 17th Mar

Not interested in any sport, I didn't bother with any of the Olympics. I was flying home from the first No Security shows in '99 and the Superbowl was on TV at SF airport bar, lots of people crowded round. Sat at the other end of bar was Jim Callaghan so I got to chat to him about Stones matters.

I would expect them to do more shows but I think they would announce a couple of shows in a month and then a few weeks later another couple of shows. I don't think they want to commit to any thing long term. So may be 2 shows in LA and 4 weeks later they say 2 shows in Tokyo etc. Of course happy if they announce a full blown tour and not surprised if they do nothing.

I thought it was awful but then I don't know what it was suppose to be. Not enough information to be a documentry and no sense of celebration of 50 years as it stopped in 82. I assumed it would end with 2011/2 rehearsal footage. Didn't really notice that much new footage but I didn't mind that if they'd had some sort of narrative structure like 25x5.

Tom Waits sings b/vocs on Harlem Shuffle I think, you can clearly hear him on the outtakes, he's mixed lower on the LP. Ronnie sax on Had It With You. Charlie doen't play drums on Too Rude I think, he's notorious for not being able to play reggae.

Saw him in Southampton in 1980. I believe it was his first UK gig outside London. He swang on stage on a rope and was dressed in a loincloth. It was hot and sweaty down the front. My friend has a guitar pick stuck to his throat with sweat, didn't even notice Ted throwing it in to thew crowd, some one lunged at his throat as we went out and that's how he got it. It was a good show.

If this was the series shown by Channel 4 in the UK the narrators monotone voice sucks any joy out of the love of cinema and he comes out with a load of pretenscious claptrap the rest of the time. I stuck the first few minutes of two episodes and gave up. Hated the thing, and I go to the cinema every week so I love films.
