QuoteTaylor1 QuoteMathijs QuoteDoxa A dream indeed, taken that the guitarist has retired years ago. But what goes for the three guitar concept, Keith also seemed to be initially thrilled about the idea, but afterwards came to the conclusion that it does not work. I take the latter mean that the arrangements, including the guitar parts and roles, of modern Stones shows are so carved in stone aft

Yes, but I think he was playing off Mick J more than Keith. As Mick says - "It was rather difficult for us to find another guitar player. I mean Keith is always going on in all these interviews that for him Mick Taylor was difficult, but for me he was really great 'cause he was so melodic to follow what I did vocally." "I do like performing or working with guitar players

Andy Johns said this about Mick Taylor which I find more believable than what Glyn said. There are some comments from Glyn from 1974 that to me show he just had a problem with Mick T for some reason. Is it true that the solo on "Winter" was done live? "Yes. Amazing, isn't it? He would quite often play solos on the track, and they came out that good quite regularly. It'

Quotesilkcut1978_ QuoteTravelinMan QuoteDandelionPowderman Their peak in the studio is generally seen as 1968-1972. I don't necessarily agree with that, but Taylor was only instrumental in making two of those albums. He was still a member during that time, I never said it was their peak because of him. Somebody said “he was never a Rolling Stone.” C’mon now. I thought it's commo

Mick Taylor is mentioned a bit in the Ronnie episode. Unfortunately it's Ronnie telling the story about how Taylor told them he was leaving at that party again which isn't true. I wish we could hear the story of Taylor leaving from Mick J instead of Ronnie. Also Glyn Johns saying Taylor quit a day before they were to start recording the new album which isn't true either.

Yes the people making the Nicky Hopkins documentary said on Twitter that they didn't get a response from Mick T. I wonder if he even knows he was asked to take part?

Quoteribbelchips QuotePaddy I never believed that story about Ronnie sitting between Mick Taylor & Mick Jagger and Taylor leans across him to tell Jagger he’s leaving the group. Then the ensuing conversation where Jagger asks him to join 5 mins later. I think the whole story stinks. In 1975 the Stones already were a million dollar band. Not a garage band where you tell your bandmates you

QuoteTravelinMan Quotedcba QuoteTaylor1 how anyone can say his playing on the Love in Vain 1972 Ft Worth show is overplayiong and not brillant is like saying Bach overplays Cos Taylor would overplay if you gave him the occasion to do so! It's been discussed before here at IORR but on live recordings (mainly from 73) when you hear Jagger yelling "yeah yeah&qu
