Axl has been struggling with his vocals for a long time now. He had such dynamic range when he was in his prime 1985-89 that it is almost impossible to hit the high notes in those old songs now. You can cover for a musician playing an instrument on a bad night, like the Stones do for Keef, but a singer is the focal point of the music and there is no place to hide.

Slightly OT, Wife and I saw The Joe Perry Project last night at the Foxwoods Casino in CT with Gary Cherone (Exteme, VH) on vocals. Great concert, they played 2hrs,a mix of old Aerosmith, old Joe Perry Project songs and covers, Cherone is a great front man and did a nice job singing the old Aerosmith songs Joe can still pick it at the tender age of 72. Highly recommended if they co

Been a big fan since the Love album. Wasn't a big fan of the last 3 albums so will give this a go. Like the two songs they dropped so far so hopeful about the rest of the album.

Never say never as we recently got a new tape of the Boston 1969 first show. Not great quality but very listenable so you never know what still lurks in peoples closets. The only thing that may make me bet against it was it was a college show so probably mostly college students and their dates so not sure if there would have been tapers there back in those early days of taping.

One of my favorite bands that I have seen over more than a dozen times over the years. Bought all the Instant Live CD's and thumb drives from their tours years back. Hopefully they add some Massachusetts dates this summer.

I find it amazing that they can still perform at such a high level as they can considering their age and the chemical abuse they put their bodies through most of their lives. Based on the shows I have seen this century I would have to say Keef seems to be the one starting to show his age. His playing gets more ragged with each tour and as others have said he seems less energetic this past tour

Quotepmk251 I think the band sounds a bit tired in San Diego. Why? This is the 6th show in the 4th city in 4 days. It is very possible that they played 3 shows the day before as the 2nd show at the Forum on the 8th commenced around 2:00 a.m. Nonetheless the long available recording of this show is a nice one and it is the band in 1969, so well worth a listen. JMO, but I find most of those e

KSAN Broadcast? I thought San Diego was a Dub and Ken audience recording, and a very good one at that, like their Oakland shows? . Is this really a pro-recorded radio show or did KSAN just broadcast the well known audience recording?

I have seen Blackberry Smoke several times most recently opening for Gov't Mule before Covid and they rock more live than they do on their studio albums. A fair amount of their music crosses over into modern country but with more of and edge I think. Very talented band and Charlie Star is an underrated vocalist and guitar player. He was a guest vocalist at the recent Allman Family

They are a great band and I was lucky to have seen them twice in the mid 70's and again about 10 years ago when they reunited and before J Geils (RIP) left the band again. J. Geils the guitarist was really into Jazz and would play local clubs and tavern's here in Massachusetts with an acoustic upright bass player before he passed. Always a great show and he was very gracious signing

I prefer the live version from the 1969 US tour as I think it is the perfect pacing for the song IMHO. They seemed to speed it up starting in 1971 and it lost something for me,

My teenage daughters love them and I took both daughters to see them at the Mohegan Sun Casino a month or so ago. Not my cup of tea so I went to see a comedy show while they were at the concert but the show was sold out and they had a great time.

QuoteJfk19562003 I looked into getting one ticket for Boston. $300-400 for floor, and $150 for balcony. Pass….. I had 2 excellent bowl loge seats in my cart for $138 each including TM fees for Boston but decided to wait to see if tix sales are slow and they reduce prices as the concerts gets closer.

Quotedaspyknows The only pricing info for SF is: "Ticket prices may fluctuate, based on demand, at any time. Learn More." A center floor seat for $100 I am in but I think the prices will be $250 and up. If so, count me out. I think it is wishful thinking to get any floor seats for $100 but maybe we will be surprised for a change. The concerts are not until late summer so if

Hey Sig, I was listening to the MSG 11/27 matrix last night while barbecuing and it got me thinking about the petition again. It is great to see we exceeded `1000 signatures but the petition seems to have stalled at less than 1100. Can you share who else you contacted to try to get more visibility on the petition? QuoteTurnerP Shocking - "Andrew Loog Oldham tweeted about this today" Maybe he's insinuating if he still held power over the stones he'd help us out ha Just having him acknowledge the effort helps the cause. The more people who tweet and retweet helps get the word out and hopefully gets us more signatures.
