Re: What's Wrong With Posting On An 8 Year Old Thread?

If you post on a thread that has been "sleeping" i.e. not in use at all for years then people will get completely confused.
Remember posting on IORR is similar to talking in a crowd with friends. One friend say something, then you comment on that, and another comment from another friend and so on. This is all happening in the same time frame, within hours, days, some times months, but rarely years.
There are a few exceptions on IORR, like eternal and timeless threads, but most threads have their own moment of time, and once they do not get any comments, after a few months, they are simply sleeping.
If a friend say something to you one day, then you leave, and five years later you meet the saem friend and you add a comment to what was said five years ago, without any intro or info, that is like posting on old sleeping threads. Confusing.
If the IORR Edititor see old threads being waked up then new posts will be deleted and the thread will be closed. Please save us all time by paying attention to threads. If you search and dig out something old, then just leave it there, and if you feel like talking about it, feel free to start a new thread.
